I hesitated on getting this after reading the negative reviews on lack of quality control and product problems. But thankfully I didn’t have any of that. I was able to build it myself, I just made sure to read the instructions first and made sure not to tighten the bolts until each set was in. (I did the feet to bar screw set first, then the bench to bar set) So far no issues, if it changes I will be back to report an update.

I've had this Marcy Bench for over 3 years (Pre covid), and it's held up very well with light-moderate use. The only signs of rust are around the bolts because I use this for an outdoor patio gym.

I purchased this with the belief that this was a light duty flat bench with a maximal load of 300lb capacity. Why? Because I do NOT bench press. I got this to do supine skull crushers, dumbbell rows, and have a place to sit in between squats and deadlifts.

Heres the deal. The picture for this product lists it as "300lb capacity", while the description says "600lbs" and even Marcy replied to a question that this has "600lb capacity". I certainly would not trust this to hold anywhere near 600lbs. Most flat benches capable of loads around 750-1000lbs are heavier (this item is less than 30lbs Vs. a 75lb flat bench) and wobble less.

So the advantage of this flat bench is that it is lightweight, easy to maneuver in a small gym space, and is relatively cheap. If I could go back in time, i'd probably shell out $20 more to get something with more weight capacity because its a small price to pay for a bench that is much more capable. With that said, I have no regrets about my purchase because I knew what I was getting when I made this purchase. Because it is lightweight, I can reposition my bench (it does not come with any wheels), elevate it on plates and do seal rows. I move it to my cable pulley to stand on it and do deficit exercises and maintain tension.

In summary, good light weight bench but has a minimal load capacity. Know what youre getting and you won't be dissapointed. Do not be fooled into the ad saying this is 600lb max cap. Shame on you Marcy for providing misleading info. In fact, if you view their "heavy duty" model which is around $90 at this time, it also confusing lists the item as 600lb and 300lb at the same time.

When quality sturdiness and ease of use comes into play....this is by far the best flat bench for the money. There are some shortcomings with this, but I think the product is fine....

For the shortcomings, is that its a little short, or Im just too tall 6'4" and its a little thin than i would like it again, its me being pretty wide with a shoulder span of 2'5"....but it holds the weight plus the weights being moved without argument 600 lb total rated limit...and me being at 360 lbs, it doesnt argue much....it gets the things done i need to....full movement of the elbows and shoulders for presses and extentions....I would recommend this product....also doubles as a bench for my keyboard....dual purpose in my book is a win, plus it dont look bad either.

Absolute trash. The covering appears to have been cut by a junior kindergarten class and applied by the SK's. When the board is attached to the base it tilts considerably to one side. If you loosen the bolts to even out the bench the top wobbles. I was going to use spacers to level it out. Turns out the support on one side was welded higher than the other. So there's no fixing that. There is no support on the sides so I wouldn't sit or put much pressure on the edges for fear of breaking or warping it. I wasn't expecting much for $100, but this is quite disappointing. I ended up returning it. I do not recommend this product. Look elsewhere.

Don't really get all the other reviews. Like what did you expect? It's a 100 dollar bench. It feels sturdy enough. Could the thing be made of better quality fabric/leather? Sure, but youre not going to get real leather for 100 dollars. Hardware was easy enough to install. Nothing was missing or stripped or bent. Doesn't come with a wrench to tighten the lock nuts, but just get some pliers or a better yet, a wrench... duh.

I purchased this bench to use at home while all the gyms are closed. I had read a couple reviews stating the stitching had came apart, however, disregarded it and decided to purchase anyway. I was super excited when package came 2 weeks earlier than it stated, opened the box, went to put bench together and stitching was coming apart. If it was only in one spot I would have kept the bench, maybe given it a review of a 3. On my bench in particular there are 4 different spot where the stitching had came apart, 2 spots where there are 6 stitches, 1 spot with 4 and another with 2. This product wasn't even used, it was like this right out of the box. I'm super annoyed that i now have to package it back up and take it to the post office, especially at a time where we aren't supposed to be going out in public to begin with.

After searching high and low for an affordable bench in the pandemic, I decided to settle on this one. I wasn't going to lift anything heavy so I figured 300 lbs was enough for me (185lbs) and my 40 lb dumbbells. It was very simple to put together (my 5 & 6 year olds were even able to help). When I read the user manual it clearly stated that the max user weight was 300 lbs but the "Maximum weight capacity (including user weight)" was 600 lbs.

So overall for a home gym I'm very happy with this purchase. It's not as cushioned as other benches I've used but it gets the job done at a decent (pandemic) price point.
