One last thing, the filters replacements are not the easiest thing to find. I suggest buy in bulk then store them for use as needed.
The only issue I have is more with AMAZON than the product/Marina.
The tank I received came to me in its original packaging that was completely FILTHY on the top, as if it had been sitting on a shelf for years. Upon opening and inspecting the contents, I came to realise that it actually HAD been sitting there for years. The two water treatments and the goldfish food had all expired--in 2012.
Luckily I'm using this tank for a Betta and have other products already, so those weren't needed, but it was great to find out that Amazon doesn't inspect their products that have contents that expire and will send out bad ones, as well as boxes caked in dust and dirt without even having the decency to wipe them clean before shipping. I was also surprised at how the product was shipped: in a larger box (two tanks could have probably fit snugly) with a little bit of brown paper in beside it. Luckily the tank didn't crack during shipping, but easily could have with all the lack of padding provided. While I appreciate Amazon's efforts to cut down on wasteful packaging, some things need a little bit more TLC just in case.
I have had 3 goldfish and one mystery snail in the tank for nearly 11 months. They are very happy and do well. I would not recommend putting more than 3 fish in the tank. I started with more fish and the water got cloudy fast and most of them died except the 3 that remain. Sorry fish :( Beware that the tank is smaller than expected...I'm not sure if it is actually the size listed. The front curves in which, limits the space. The rocks and plant included is a nice touch, I did had another ornament.
Additional Information about Tank Maintenance:
I would buy again just make sure to adhere to the 2-3 fish rule.
I do change the filter 1 every 3-4 weeks. It gets really dirty. I use the two products that came with the tank to help stabilize the water and I use them every week. I do the partial water changes one a month, it is recommended that you do this every week though. I put a little rock tunnel ornament and my fish love it.
