the first one. There were a few years when I had a hard time finding them in
bookstores, so now I am ordering them for my Kindle (not all titles are in
e-book form yet).
Meg and Quill (sisters who own and run the inn) are such interesting characters. Meg is a famous chef, and Quill is a famous artist, so they do have their quirks...which make them even more interesting.
Some of the residents of Hemlock Falls (yes, I realize it's not a real place)
are in every/or most of the books, and a couple of them are so annoying...just
like real life. If it was a real place I would love to go for a visit...and
stay in the inn.
Anyway, since most of the murders happen to guests of the inn, Quill and Meg
make it their business to try and solve the murders.
I really like this series. I guess it would be in the "cozy" genre. The
stories are nice, easy reading reading...not as compelling as some of Allison
Brennan's or Tess Gerritsen's books. I like having a selection of novels to
suit what I'm in the mood for at the time.
If you read "Marinade for Murder" (or other titles in the series), you will
find yourself wanting to sit on a porch with a hot cup of tea, hoping the
sisters solve the murder...and maybe you'll find yourself planning a trip to
a scenic, welcoming town like Hemlock Falls.
