Although some reviews have mentioned APPoint Pro to be either an unnecessary application or, fails to save the user any extra time as promised/advertised in the apps' description, I , myself, completely agree with Mr. Reeses' review. ( See Review: Robert Reese)
I feel the idea is an excellent one and have often wondered why Amazon's Kindle Fire or Apple's IPhone have not yet been implemented with something similar. I most definitely have a need for and, would use APPoint Pro numerous times on a daily basis....if the improvements Mr. Reese had mention were made.
Also, I am unsure if this is an isolated problem with my own device, but several aspects of this application from graphics rendering to the UI, failed to either load or, execute properly on my Kindle Fire HDX 8.9. I'll hold on to this one for a little while with the hope that developers will provide an update that will look into and possibly correct this issue, as well as, create some user friendly improvements and especially remove all of its adware.
I recommend at least, picking this one up as the FAOTD. However, unless an update has been made, I personally wouldn't pay for it.

Not only is this app completely redundant for anyone that bothers to power their Android device on at all, but it also contains both Admob and Adsense-- which should not exist in a full version paid "Pro" app.

This has absolutely nothing of value and should be avoided even for free.

1 star.

One of the biggest issues I have had with my Samsung Tab 3 is the inability to quickly swap application windows. Sure, I can home screen out, sometimes waiting a few seconds for my home screen to load in, then dither about, sometimes even longer, trying to find the app I want amongst the myriad of icons. I have repeatedly reorganized my home screen icons to cut down the dithering... but APPOINT PRO is exactly, yes, EXACTLY the -customizable- window swap ability I have been wanting. There is nothing useless about it in my case.

I have looked at each permission carefully, considering what the app needs to do, and every single permission is legitimate. If anyone has any particular permission question, feel free to leave a comment, and I will answer, but otherwise dealing with each would take up far too much space.

As for the adware, I have oft said in the past that I am not quite as heavy handed against addon code that is essentially benign (although I do deeply dislike advertising spam). There is no advertising spam here, however. I cannot see if the adware is active or not, yet the -inactive- adware in that HELIDROID game does come to mind. I encourage the app developer to contact us to elucidate.

Nevertheless, this app is MAJOR improvement to my Android life. Perhaps you can think of it as a 2nd home screen layer although it certainly moves a lot quicker than my home screen button does. I can swap between my review entries to other apps, such as OfficeSuite Pro- and here is the big kicker- without having my review field resetting. That's right, sometimes when swapping between apps via the home screen with a partial review written, I would come back to an empty review box because my browser window refreshed. Not so with APPOINT. WOOT!

This app is sort of a shortcut tab on your tablets screen. It creates a small semitransparent dot that allows you to touch it and quickly change between your favorite apps. You can load your favorite apps by touching the dot and then touching the plus sign that is in the upper RH corner. A complete list of your apps is shown and you simply touch the apps you want to be able to use this app with and do not select the ones that you do not want. They are then added to the pop up screen that appears when you touch the dot on the screen. I know you can swipe screens and change apps but this is faster and easier in my testing.

It is a fast and easy way to switch between different applications without swiping through multiple screens trying to find the app you are looking for. My Samsung Tab 4 already has a split screen mode in its operating system and this app is even a nice addition to that. I do prefer the split screen function of the Samsung over this app but this app is a nice addition for those that do not have to ability to multitask quickly. The split screen functionality from Samsung allows you to view and use two apps or utilities simultaneously.

Like the other reviewers I do not like the Adware in the app's code. According to the developer it is inactive in this paid version and I will take his word for it. As soon as the first ad pops up then this app will be deleted. I do not like Adware installed in paid apps.

The Adware included is AdMob and AdSense which are push systems to push ads to your device and provide websites to link to. They can collect personal information such as IP addresses and device information. If any GPS permission is ever installed in the future then that information is also collected to push local ads to the user.

[UPDATE: BRG brought up that the point can be hidden/moved to the notification bar through a long press. This is a step in the right direction, so I'm adding a star on contingency.]

Okay, let's get the permissions and the adware out of the way. Yes, it has AdMob and AdSense. Yes, it asks for lots of permissions. HOWEVER, unlike games that should never have some of these permissions, this one needs the permissions for its purpose: to be able to launch your apps while inside other apps. In this particular case, I'm less worried about the permissions. NOTE: I did *not* see any ads, though there is a spot in both the changelog and the settings where the dev mentions his other apps.

WHAT IT IS:
This is an OVERLAY application. It acts as a top layer over other applications so you have quick access to your other apps, which it lets you organize.

It looks very much like a widget, and is attractive in its functioning. The concept is FANTASTIC, holding a lot of promise for power users. In the future it would be nice to be able to access information on one or more screens, such as a sports ticker, todo reminder, etc. Still, for its current iteration, I love the idea.

What I do NOT see is a setting for apps that should NOT be overlaid. For instance, you might not want this to overlay an image editing app or a game, in either of which you could inadvertently launch APPoint. Maybe I'm missing the exclusion list; if so, please someone alert me by commenting on this review.

Because of the adware and because of the lack of exclusion list for apps like games and editors, I docked TWO stars. Remove the adware to get back one star, and add the exclusion list for the second star.

BOTTOM LINE: Get it anyway. *Great* concept for power users like me. It needs the exclusion list and it needs to be rid of the adware, but it is worth grabbing, especially after those issues are addressed.
