I thoroughly enjoyed the characters, the story, the revenge, and how the epilogue tied it all up with a pretty bow.
The author did a great job, and I was impressed by the thoroughness in which she was able to put closure to each character.
There was also just the right mix of steamy mixed in, which comes in handy on a cold winter's night.
Max and Miranda have an instant chemistry that you can feel from their first meeting. Max is sexy, persistent, and very used to getting his way. At first Miranda is very prim and a bit boring but she changes and comes out of her shell more as the story progresses. I really enjoyed them and drawn in and eager to keep ready so I could find out how they faired.
With well written characters and a unique and intriguing plot line, I was instantly hooked. The world of finance and stocks (which I normally don't care for at all) was easy to read about and blended well with the romance and hot steamy scenes to make a well rounded story. There's even a bit of mystery. Great story and I'm giving this a 4 out of 5 stars!
The story begins with Miranda who is having an awful day at work. She is a senior executive analyst at Maxwell Moore & Company. She has lost 87 million dollars for her clients and is completely devastated. She decides to go down to the buildings coffee shop and get three double espressos to help her cope with such a monumental loss. While there she meets an absolutely gorgeous stranger. One thing leads to the next and they are getting it on in a private office suite. Miranda doesn’t even know the stranger’s name which is so out of character for her.
Turns out after her rendezvous with ‘Max’ (she found out his name after they finished) is actually a rendezvous with the new CEO of the company she works for…. Talk about embarrassing. I can’t even imagine having the type of morning that Miranda had… I would probably have to crawl under a rock and die. Max always gets what he wants though and right now his eyes are set on Miranda. Miranda is stubborn though and won’t let Max control her as he is used to doing.
Max and Miranda start off very steamy but after a law suit appears from Max’s ex and Miranda’s arch nemesis things get a little rocky. Victoria is out for vengeance and has been for years.
The journey that Max and Miranda is full of suspense wondering what will happen and what secrets are waiting to be revealed. Max’s number one priority is to protect Miranda because he loves her. Miranda loves Max too but can their relationship overcome the obstacle that Victoria has now thrown in their path?!?!?!
The story was a great and quick read that kept you intrigued until the very end. I loved the epilogue and was glad to see the way the story played out. This story is like Cinderella but for a Business Woman.
I liked this book. The characters were well written and I was invested in their story. The book draws you in from the first page. There are a lot of laughs, emotional ups and downs as well as some twist and turns throughout the story. There is one particular twist within involving Max that I did not see coming. Definitely a WTF moment while reading. And it was great to see the dynamic between Miranda and Max while they navigate the feelings that they have for each other. I really enjoyed to fast-pace of the story. There really wasn't any dull moments. A nice surprise and a great read.
Miranda is having one hellava bad day. Losing 87 million bucks of her clients money, meeting and having sex with a total stranger all in the span of like an hour. Whoa...
Mr. Hot stranger guy. His name is Max. Maxwell Moore Jr. to be exact and he tries to wipe away Miranda's bad morning and he does...until she finds out he is her boss! Not only her Boss but the new CEO acting of the company where she is employed. Damn the luck!
Control freak Miranda and Mr. Hot CEO Max have many battles of wills. So fun the banter between these two. Poor Miranda too...the bad luck just keeps piling up! Enter the ex-girlfriend of Max AND her arch rival. Thats when it get good!!
Funny, sexy, amusing and an all around fun read with the perfect ending! I'll totally read another book by this author and i'll recommend to my friends!
Fabulous Jill!! xo
I also enjoyed how the back story unfolded piece by piece, giving just enough to send your blood pressure through the roof! I won't spoil the ending for you, but it was nothing but it was exactly as it should be! Feel free to check out more at [...]
