Product Description

Outstanding wind and water resistance meets gymnastic mobility in this versatile, hooded solution for multi-season trekking, camping, cycling, or just getting around town. GORE WINDSTOPPER technology is married to Marmot M2 Softshell and appointed with countless practical features to create a weather-fighting workhorse for the ages.

The Marmot ROM women's jacket -- an acronym standing for "range of motion" -- is zonally constructed, with an articulated, snug-yet-movable fit that optimizes both warmth and active movement. It's made of water-resistant, air-permeable M2 softshell material, with Gore Windstopper fabrics to help further protect you from the elements. The company calls this versatile jacket its "Swiss army knife" of softshells, and it's easy to see why -- it has the technical function for a day on the mountain, and the slim styling to transition easily to the city sidewalk.

An attached, adjustable hood is water- and wind-resistant, and adjusts via Velcro hood tab and elastic drawstring.

Gore Windstopper Material
Marmot's technical garments featuring Gore Windstopper material offer total windproof performance with excellent breathability, combining the comfort of a soft mid-layer and the water resistance of a shell in one garment. This line of apparel keeps you comfortable and provides the freedom of movement for enhanced performance in a wide range of activities and weather conditions.

Constructed of soft, quiet, stretchy fabrics, Windstopper protects your body’s warmth from the chilling effects of wind and weather, and prevents overheating and perspiration build-up by allowing moisture vapor to easily escape. With this three-layer construction, Windstopper membrane is bonded between a high performance fabric on one side and quick-drying polyester fleece on the other. A durable water repellent finish offers additional weather protection.

Designed for an active fit, Windstopper garments perform well in outdoor activities such as hiking, backpacking, cycling, hunting, mountain sports, skiing, snowboarding, and trekking in the wind, snow, and rain.

Marmot M-series Fabric
Designed for moving light and fast, Marmot's M-series materials combine stretchy, water-repellant, abrasion-resistant, breathable shell material with an insulating buffer layer for versatile warmth. M2 shells offer a balance between weather resistance, breathability, and thermal protection, and are appropriate for a wide range of aerobic use in moderate to cold conditions.

Lifetime Warranty
Marmot products include a limited lifetime manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

About Marmot
In April 1971, University of California Santa Cruz students Eric Reynolds and Dave Huntley were in Alaska on the Juneau ice fields for a Glaciology school project. This was where the idea of Marmot, originally a collegiate climbing club, began. Reynolds and Huntley soon began making prototypes of down products such as vests and sleeping bags in their dorm room in Santa Cruz. By the spring of 1973, Reynolds and Huntley partnered with fellow climber Tom Boyce to open a modest rental and retail location, named Marmot Mountain Works, in a 100-year-old building in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Their first large order was for 108, as the producer called them, "very puffy jackets" for the movie The Eiger Sanction, with Clint Eastwood, which helped make down outerwear fashionable. In 1976, Marmot was one of the first companies to recognize the value of a new technology being developed by W.L. Gore & Associates. Marmot was soon producing waterproof Gore-Tex sleeping bags, with Reynolds and Huntley testing early prototypes by sleeping in meat lockers and under fire sprinklers, and later introduced the waterproof/breathable fabric into nearly all Marmot products.

From humble beginnings, Marmot and its product line have grown over the years, and today the company is headquartered in Rohnert Park, California, with offices all over the world and distribution in more than 60 countries.

Hardly notice you are wearing it- so soft and comfortable. What I did notice was that the wind was not going thru me. Nice addition to my wardrobe.

I highly recommend this Marmot Women's Rom Jacket. It is made with quality construction. It's comfortable to wear. I wore it on cool, rainy days and it was great. The hood was comfortable to wear. I would prefer if it had an inner pocket or two. The black jacket with the grey zipper seems like classic color combinations that will always work well. I recommend this jacket.
