I don't like white noise machines that are just a glorified speaker puck with a basic storage mechanism that houses 12 poorly produced MP3s. Most baby sound machines are this way, many adult sound machines are also made this way. They often loop, lack audio leveling, or the speaker cannot convey a realism that the tired brain will accept.
The Dohm is moving real air throughout a housing, and depending on how you twist the housing with the holes, it can produce a high pitchy white noise, or a deep low white noise or anywhere in-between. This means once you find the sound level you prefer, you're done. It does not loop, it's by design perfectly consistent and there's no low-quality speaker. The sound is a natural phenomenon of the mechanical fans inside it.
By all accounts, if all you care about is genuine white noise that comes from a mechanical process (like a fan) and want to avoid poorly made digital MP3's squeezed out via a cheap speaker, this is the best option on the market.
I often use this in conjunction with a fan during the summer and can skip the fan in the winter. I also bring it on trips to Airbnb's because I can't sleep somewhere else without it.

I use this product nightly. No rattling! (See vid) A bit $$, but it’s good for babies AND adults!
I use this white noise machine, without fail, EVERY SINGLE NIGHT, without any issues. I also use it sometimes during the day to do computer work, when my kids are home from school, and I need to help tune them out a bit so I can concentrate.This has been going strong daily since July, and it hasn’t failed me yet, and I hear no rattling or ‘off’ sounds of any kind, like many reviewers have complained about on here. This isn’t years old, so I’m assuming from July til now, this is likely the latest model, I’d THINK!I’m a very light sleeper, I wake early and go to bed earlier than anybody else, so when my hubby would come upstairs, he’d always be waking me up. Then it’s hard for me to go back to bed. This helps A LOT!I became obsessed with white noise machines when my kids were babies. It really helped soothe them to sleep in a calming matter and drown out background noise. It works the same way for us big kids.. AKA- adults, who don’t sleep as heavy as a log.This DOHM Yoga sleep, white noise machine gets a 4.25 star rating from me. The ONLY improvements I’d make is:1) it has two volume settings- low and high, as is shown in my video clip.It would be nice to have a volume knob to be able to adjust the white noise sound level to your personal, perfect level. I keep it on high, personally. I wouldn’t mind if it even went up a little louder in this house, but it does the job well. I’m not complaining much about this.2) I wish it had a battery option, too (for travel.)We have a camper, and at times my kids find it hard to sleep there. This would be soothing for them, but I can’t keep it plugged in all night. Our electric bill for the season there is so high to begin with, but for that reason, a battery option would be nice. Again, not a deal breaker for me, just saying. This unit MUST be plugged into the wall.3) the price seems a bit high.I think $45 is a bit steep for a machine that only has one sound, BUT a good night’s sleep for you or your child, is pretty darn priceless, so again, just making note of it, overall, not complaining much- just saying.I again, never had an issue with any ‘odd’ sounds or rattling, as is mentioned here. Not ever, to be 100% honest, so that doesn’t apply here.For ME.. It’s a really solid, well built machine that does exactly what it’s meant to do. So while a couple of optional improvements or changes COULD be made on a future model, I’m very pleased with it, overall, and I DO recommend this product to others.4.25 stars for this product!!I hope my review has been helpful for you :).
