Mrs. Joanna Lockhart was the bell of the ball in her come out season & was married & settled quickly. But the happiness was not meant to last aas her husband, Noah experienced sudden death & shortly after his death, Joanna became extremely ill. She has been at her parents house being nursed back to health & she is full of grief & bored to tears with nothing to do.
Ambrose Creasey, Earl of Newhaven, is the Ton's definition of a rake & rogue & Ambrose has suddenly become weary of all the drinking, partying, womanizing & waking up with such bloody hangovers. He would like to do something with his time & life that meant a good deed done & was appreciated. After speaking with his butler, he suggests Lord Creasey spend some time on his family charity if he wants something to do.
Ambrose had attended social functions in Joanna's general social circle for many years, but they rarely spent time together. Joanna decided to do some fundraising for a hospital that is being built just 10 miles from her home. Ambrose decides to take a "hand ons" position in the charity that was set up by his family several years ago & the newly purchased building that would be a children's hospital in the country to aid the people who do not live in London. This is where they meet to begin working with one another & to begin the change that each one needs to make.
This couple has such a wonderful story & romantic but bumpy journey to their touching love story. I highly recommend this beautifully written story - it keeps you turning pages & leaves you with a smile & a sigh. I was gifted the Advanced Reader Copy of this book & all opinions are my own & have been voluntarily given.
Ambrose Creasey, Earl of Newhaven, is a known rogue who is finally becoming tired of the partying, drinking, and carousing that is just wasting his time. He wants to do something useful and be appreciated, and he looks at the charity that his family started and funds as a possible place to begin.
Ambrose and Joanna join forces in a fundraising effort for the children’s hospital in the country aimed at providing help to people living on the outskirts of London. Ambrose is attracted to her intelligence and charm. Can he convince her that he has given up his former pastimes and is no longer the rake he used to be? Will she see he is sincere and trying to be a better person than his reputation had indicated? Is she ready to move on to a new relationship after so recently losing her beloved husband?
I really enjoyed this story and the characters that were so well portrayed and likable. The interactions among the various characters and their banter with each other gives the reader even more insight into the people they are. It makes everything believable and that much better. Grab your copy and see if there is a future for these two, or if it’s too soon to tell!
Johanna and Ambrose are good for each other. There is great chemistry between them. Ambrose admires Johanna for standing up for herself. She loves that he is supportive and understanding. Married to the Earl is a story of change and moving on. Emotions run hot and the road get a little bumpy, but happily ever after is worth it. This is a quick and engaging story. I enjoyed it and definitely recommend it.
with kid gloves, after her husband had passed away and then she had a serious illness, almost losing her life. What's a lady to do? Charity work. Yes, she was great talking to people and could raise funds, use her organization skills... The Creasey Charity for Children and their new hospital. Maybe that is why she had dreamed of the Earl of Newhaven. "It had been a sign," this was what she should do.
Ambrose, Earl of Newhaven had come to the conclusion, his carefree, wait no, somewhat rakish, no make that debauched life was growing old. He wanted to do more. His family's charity was just the thing and the focus of the new hospital was just the thing.
Yes, it was fate that brought these two together and was a delightful journey as they tried to find their way to happiness! Loved these two and the secondary characters. This series has been wonderful and I have enjoyed every story! Prepare to be enchanted!!
