Emily and Cooper's romance took a backseat to all the hilarious job interviews! And Andrew was a riot! I loved him and wish he had made appearances in the first two books. Lesson learned: Don't tell your secrets to Andrew.
I didn't care for the reason Emily broke up with Cooper. I am not a fan of people who don't communicate when a relationship hits a rough spot. Emily made assumptions that were wrong. Even when she found out her assumptions from 9 months ago were wrong, she still didn't let Cooper know. Then she went and made more wrong assumptions. She cut off communication again because she didn't learn from past mistakes. To me, that is a mark against the story.
I really enjoyed all the references to characters from other books. I was very pleased to get an explanation of George's previous behavior. I'd still wring his neck!
I highly recommend reading all books by the fantastic Tracey Pederson. If you love well-written, highly entertaining rom-coms, you definitely need to read all three stories in the Married This Year Series. I guarantee you will laugh at loud at some of the scenes.
Married This Year - If more romances were styled like this novel, I might read more of them. I’m looking forward to reading more of this author’s work. There was none of the usual, stupid plot of many romance novels where the two main characters had a thing, parted, and met up again. The constant theme of let’s deny what we had, make each other miserable while we still have the hots for each other, blah, blah, blah. Fortunately, Ms. Pedersen didn’t follow that script, creating an interesting, funny story with filled with two believable main characters and their supportive posse.
Married This Year 2 - A good friend to have cook meals if dieting. Well-written, funny, holds you captive until you've finished the book. The characters are believable and real. Again, another successful read by the author. Just don't read it in a public place, people stare when you're laughing out loud so much. No sex and very infrequent mild cursing.
All are 5 stars!
The storyline moves along. There is a lot of craziness at the work place. The crazy potential new hires. The business where Emily works is being revamped.
..Guess who is in charge in helping her?...
Ex Boyfriend Cooper.
Cooper is hoping the time spent together will show Emily how compatible they are. That she DOES WANT to be with Cooper.
..The whacky interviews they had. There were some really funny moments.
A fun read. I also enjoyed that her good friends are involved. Fun and have each other's backs.
There is a lot of drama and non stop issues at work that Emily handles so well.
I recommend this book and series.
Tracey Pedersen is a favorite author of mine.
Go to author when I'm bumming.
