I adored this book. If I didn't have to do the mom thing, the wife thing, and the blogger thing, I would have finished it in one sitting. I found myself trying to stay up past my bedtime because I was that immersed in their story.
Giselle is a beauty vlogger and Anders owns a few businesses, most recently a speakeasy. How frickin sexy is that??
So it's 18 years after Giselle and Anders met, and holy crap the first few chapters are eeeeeeek! But then words are misunderstood and feelings are hidden and then it's 9 months later.
Giselle flies off to Paris to find herself and leaves Anders behind. Like really behind. She comes back engaged to another man.
I'm not going to spoil anything, but I'll tell you that I loved how this whole thing played out. We didn't spend half of the book falling for her fiance, just to have it all fall apart and then tied up in a nice bow at the last 10-20%. No, Alexandria placed this story perfectly. Giselle knew what and who she wanted. And she didn't play any games when it came to her heart.
This is a love triangle story, but it's truly about Giselle and Anders. So like I said before, it isn't about the three of them for the majority of the book, and then a nice little ending.
We get to see them really fall in love and take their relationship to the next level, whatever that may be.
And I wanted to hate her fiance, but he had a right to his behavior, and he does redeem himself. I'm hoping the next book with these characters is about him and a certain news blogger who bugged the crap out of me.
Being in denial about how they truly felt about each other for many years had made this story even more fun to read! You will get whiplash from the back and forth between the two but it is worth the wait and knowing the story goes on to HEA is a Bonus!
Anders fell for Giselle the summer he met her, but he was 19 and knew he couldn't get involved with his best friend's little sister. He has tried to remind himself that he can't go there, but when she shows up at his place of business wanting more, he decides he is tired of denying what he truly wants...her.
Giselle and Anders spend one perfect night together but while Anders is assuming this is the start of something wonderful, Giselle is thinking this is goodbye. Will these two ever be on the same page or is it time to let go of what could be?
I really liked this story. I had read The Dating Trilogy by this author so I was already familiar with Anders and Giselle and was excited to see them get their own book. I like both of these characters but I was a little puzzled as to why it took them so many years to finally figure things out. It was fun to get more of Marek and Tinley from The Dating Trilogy. I am happy that Giselle finally got her HEA and can't wait to see what's next for Wren. Another quick, enjoyable read from Alexandria Bishop.
Anders is happy that this happened so that he could be with Giselle in the end. If you would like to know the rest of this story please feel free to read this great romance novel between Brother's best friend and younger sister romance. Can not wait for the second book to come out with Wren.
