I loved how Haji became so americanized, stayed true to himself, but still embraced his roots. Chinara had to let that stubbornness go, but still held on to her self-respect. He was a blessing that came into her life at the right time. There was just enough drama to make it interesting with both Haji's family and the rachett Kylie and Donovan. Not enough however, to destroy what they were building. God, I loved Haji. Perfect man for them.
I'm glad that I didn't pass on this book, as I've read almost all of her books. This was soooooo cute. This author is masterful at putting a pen to paper. I can't wait for a story on Chinara's sister and Jarius.
Haji is definitely book bae; one of my favorites from all of Monica’s books. I appreciate how thorough the story line was- all important questions answered regarding the characters. I was just really intrigued by the cultural change. Having characters from different cultures was different for Monica, but the story was very well written!! Those love scenes played in my head like a movie because they were so detailed and sensual. This book was EVERYTHING, I am so glad I took a break to read it!!!
I loved his attentiveness and his willingness to help someone in need even if it meant not having what he wanted himself.
Chinara with her beautiful yet stubborn self walked into her destiny like the Queen she is.
Thank you Monica for this journey to love and for allowing us to get a taste of our culture in language, traditional garb and love.
Very well done! 👏🏾💪🏾🖤
