The Marseille 5 foot mCable is the only HDMI cable on the market that improves the visual experience by carefully processing each pixel of video to reduce noise, restore edges, and enhance details. The cable works on both HD and 4K TV's and is the perfect solution for 4K TV owners that want to experience the full benefit of their TV's 8 million pixels, but are frustrated by the lack of 4K content and the lack of bandwidth to support 4K content streaming. In addition to up-converting 480p and 720p content to 1080p resolution, and up-converting 1080p content to near-native 4K resolution, the VTV-1224 processor-powered cable improves overall picture quality via noise reduction, edge restoration (which dramatically improves on-screen text quality), and detail enhancement. Whether it's streaming video directly from your cable box, via a DVR such as TiVo, devices like Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV, or even from your Blu-Ray Disc player, the cable makes everything look better. Simple Steps to Enhance Your Picture Quality: 1. Power-up the video processor by plugging the mCable's USB connector into an available USB port on your HDTV. 2. Connect the larger mCable Ultra connector labeled "TV" to an available HDMI port on your HDTV. Connect the smaller mCable Ultra connector labeled "Source" to the HDMI port in your source device.

If you're a DirecTV user, you must format the output on all channels to 720p to allow the upscaling to 1080p. Set the box to Native off, and uncheck 480i and 1080i. The easiest way to ensure you're in 720p is to hit "Info," then scroll over along the top to
"Change Audio/Video resolution" (something like that, I'm not home right now), highlight, and keep entering until you're on 720p normal, then hit "done". This should keep the content always on 720p and going back to this same link off the "Info" top bar provides a quick double-check of the resolution you are in.
I haven't had the cable long enough to test its reliability so I was hesitant to write this now, but now it's done. For all those who say this cable is bogus and even the simple cables are as good because it's all 1's and 0's, you haven't seen this cable in action, perhaps your settings don't capitalize on the processing, or you have a separate agenda. If you have great equipment and can't see a difference, maybe you have truly great equipment. The internal processor makes a huge difference, at least for satellite viewing. I haven't tested it on my non4k Blue-Ray player yet. Even though there are a few kinks with the cable - the fact that it may not be compatible with all equipment, and that it will slow down the time in changing from one channel to the next, the increase in picture quality is worth it, I bought the small 4' cable and the investment was clearly worth it.There is no other HDMI cable that does what this cable does.
I have a Sony portable blu ray which I bought in 2011 so upon recipient of the cable I plugged it in to the 4 k slot on my LG and it recognized my blu ray player (It did not before) and the picture is much improved I just viewed The Wrath of Kahn on blu ray and wow it was great before with the LG up grade soft ware but there is a noticeable picture improvement if it is not 4k it is close enough for me.
So yes 5 stars for this product
As a test I removed the cable after a few weeks without saying anything.
My wife immediately complained I messed up with the TV (hehe).
It's a great buy - I'm buying it to all my friends for Xmas!
This will not upscale everything. It will not upscale less than 480P (144, 240, 360). When using it on a DVD player or BluRay player you must set the device for the correct playback resolution (read FAQ). On a computer if your resolution is higher than 1080P you will not see a difference.
This is the good part. On any device with a resolution of 480P up to 1080P output, you will see why you would buy this device. I streamed data on a Roku set at 720P output and checked my HDTV with my regular HDMI cable and the display showed receiving 720P. When I switched to the mCable the display showed receiving 1080P which confirmed upscaling to the tv's max resolution. I played back video from my Roku youtube channel selecting either 480P or 720P and compared to the original and there was a definite difference. The 480P black bars were still there but the picture was upscaled to 720P quality. The 720P video looked like bluray full 1080P. Some videos at start didn't appear upscaled and just as I was about to say this didn't work I saw the mCable kick in and voila upscaled and great picture. When connected to a tv provider box (Spectrum, ATT uverse, etc.) all of the 480P and 720P channels will be upscaled and enhanced and you WILL notice the difference. This will not upscale 480i or 1080i it will simply pass them through and they will be the same as with the standard HDMI cables.
