Marshall is one the top coaches in the world; and not everyone can have access to his wisdom so it made sense to create a virtual Marshall for everyone who's motivated to take their professional success to the next level. Marshall usually charges upwards of $250,000 for his one-on-one coaching, but this program makes him available to anyone for less than 50 cents a day.
What is the Marshall Goldsmith Professional Success System?
It is a six month online program. Users log in once a week to take instructions from Marshall. There are supporting resources including videos of Marshall, articles written by Marshall, and dynamic tools to help the user on their path to success. At the end of the first six months users will have the ability to sign up for a second engagement that both reinforces and builds upon the progress of the previous six months.

The Marshall Goldsmith Professional Success System
That said, those who have read his books and articles and are about to embark on Goldsmith's interactive system need to understand that he will not get them to wherever they wish to be from where they are now. Although to the extent possible, Goldsmith is involved as their coach, they (not he) must absorb and digest the material. They (not he) must complete the exercises and then revisit them frequently. They (not he) must then make whatever modifications may be necessary in terms of goals to be pursued, relationships with stakeholders to be developed, and leadership and management skills to be strengthened. Most important of all, they (not he) must sustain a commitment to the "game plan" once it has been formulated. No one should embark on this professional success system unless ready, indeed determined to do the work and become successful.
According to Goldsmith, "Your Master Plan is critical to helping you set and track your goals. Your Master Plan helps you systematically organize and manage your goals, identify milestones, and create success indicators. Click on "Add Master Plan Goal" below to get started. In addition to managing your goals, you will use the Master Plan to record Feedforward and Feedback from your Stakeholders on a monthly basis. Step One: Click Add a Goal button. Fill in the required fields. Step Two: Click Add / Edit Stakeholders. Note: The Stakeholders that you have identified in your first goal will carry over to additional goals. Step Three: Add input and manage your goals by clicking on the drop-down list below. Your goals are listed below based upon the current month."
Here is a portion of Goldsmith's welcoming statement: "I have worked with many of the most successful people anyone could ever hope to meet. In working with these people it becomes evident that these individuals have earned their success mainly through their personal qualities. And, often it becomes equally clear that to reach the next level of success these people had to either refine what they know, learn new skills, or unlearn traits that are no longer effective. The process that I will coach you through is the same that I use with leaders of companies around the world. This is a proven process, that if you stick to will bring you a new level of self understanding and most importantly greater effectiveness in your life."
Goldsmith then explains, "I will guide you over the next 6 months to move to a higher level of success than you are presently experiencing. At the end of the six months you will be able to register for a certificate that states you completed the Marshall Goldsmith Professional Success System. Like I do with all of my clients, I provide the option to extend our work together. You will have the option of signing up for a second six month engagement. The second 6-month segment strengthens the knowledge and skills learned in the first segment to fortify your success."
Here are the first six segments:
Month #1: Behavioral Goal Setting (Reminder: "Only identify one or two behaviors that you want to change.")
Month #2: Start Smart with Stakeholders (Reminder: "Identify individuals that you can trust to provide fair and honest opinions. Seek input from the most qualified people even though you might be afraid of what they have to say.")
Month #3: Moving to Action (Reminder: "Make sure you reach out to your stakeholders early on to ensure that you meet with all of them this month.")
Month #4: Building a Rhythm
Month #5: Beginning to Change Perception
Month #6: The 7-Step Process as a Habit
Goldsmith introduces each of the segments (one per month) and identifies Weekly Checklist Items. For example, during the first month: Identify strengths/opportunities to improve, gather input from others, perform a cost/benefit analysis on my identified behaviors, and identify goal(s) and appropriate stakeholders.
Because the Professional Success System is interactive, a participant can easily make necessary modifications - such as details of the "Master Plan," for example, and changes of specific goals -- at any point in the process. One of the system's most value-added benefits (among many) is the provision of links to several dozen complementary articles (in PDF format), and, access to a wealth of other resources at the Goldsmith Library Web site.
This is a comprehensive program that requires that the user does real work. However, if the user takes this process seriously she or he can achieve real results. To the best of my knowledge, this is the first virtual coach program of its kind and really delivers.
