Not only did my 7 y/o fall in love with the IDEA of this toy to the point where his entire waking effort was dedicated to commandeering the family's schedule to sell $600 worth of Cub Scout popcorn so he could win it (I got off cheap by buying the toy directly), but he loved it even more when he got it and found out it popped out marshmallows with real authority. He learned to care for it after leaving a marshmallow in it overnight (it melted to the toy). Really, it's one of his proudest possessions, and heck, every 7 y/o ought to have a few toys with absolutely no purpose other than to put a grin on his face.

I got this after MUCH research for my six year old son. We have a pvc-pipe mini-marshmallow shooter (blow--dart type) that he uses and loves, though it gets jammed an awful lot. Marshmallows are sticky little buggers!

To prepare for him having this, I actually took a bag of marshmallows, opened them and spread them out on a baking sheet and left them out to dry (We are in Wi and have forced-air heat-- which means our house is dryer than the desert in winter!)-- WARNING-- do not do that! You will turn a toy into a dangerous weapon!

After assembling it, I gave him one of my specially prepared marshmallows and he shot it at a box and it left a huge dent.-- You will want SOFT MARSHMALLOWS for this one!

That said, except for my own mistakes, this marshmallow cross bow has been a PLEASURE-- No frustration with jamming, no problems with stickiness. It is easy to load, just be sure to follow the directions and put a flat-side forward-- and shooting is a breeze. If you have a child with shorter arms, cocking it may be a problem, but other than that-- It is as easy as the demo video on the amazon listing.

It shoots regular-size marshmallows and shoots them far-- Just don't harden them up before loading! :-)

I mainly modify Nerf Guns. I had seen this being converted from firing Marshmellows to fire darts. Which is my main reason for purchase. The modification I did however only changed the front breech/barrel, everything else stayed the same. That being said, When I was using this at an event. The Trigger and Catch failed on me with in 30 shots. I love everything about this thing. But the Trigger system is the cheapest piece of junk I've ever seen. I have since refined my mods and now use it more like a BnA.

I purchased this product for my grandson's fifth birthday. He absolutely loved it and so did his dad and granddad. He doesn't have enough strength in his arms to cock the bow but manages very well cocking it with his feet. He could not put this down and played with it for an hour solid. His little sister, almost two, loved the sound it made when hitting the marshmellow target bought separately but a must have as we'll.

This was one of the least expensive toys under the Christmas tree, but it was certainly one of the most loved! Our 9 year old son has had oodles of fun with this. It has taken hundreds of reloads and has held up perfectly. It really has some pep too, so make sure you don't shoot it at anything breakable. Our son figured out that if he bit the end off of a marshmallow that it would stick to the target...e[...]

My grandson was very excited. He wanted one that used plastic "arrows" but realized he didn't need as "mom" supervision with marshmallow arrows. Also it gave him a really unhealthy snack. He is regulated by the number of arrows he is allowed.

A Kid's Review on November 27, 2012
This thing looks like a peice of crap but is the greatest thing EVER. Its not the best for sneeking up but as an assault weapon its really good. I brought it to my friends house and ambushed them with it and it worked really well. The loading breech needs to be cleaned a lot, or it will get stuck but thats not a big deal. I really love this and I hope you do too. I really think if you are looking for a marshmellow gun, come here. The rang is 10-15 feet. 20' on a good day. It has no sights but the little screw holders on top of it work great. It may be a little hard to pull back for the littles but if you help them they could be a real boss with it. Jet puff marshmellows (regular size) work fine with it. And maybe if you shove a bunch of mini's down the front you can do a little shotgun action. Again, best one yet.

My 7 year old son actually received this for selling popcorn for cub scouts. Totally loves it - hasn't put it down since he received it a few days ago. He uses his hands and feet to set it, so is getting a little workout too. He can totally use it by himself, it works well, and appears to be durable. It's going to be difficult to find a Christmas present that is going to top this!
