I purchased 9 of these for Easter. We always go on a family beach trip for Easter, and it was great fun for the kids to all wake up and find one of these waiting in their Easter baskets! The Easter bunny also left out giant bags of mini marshmallows pretty much guaranteeing a great time. The kids ranged from 4-16 and all were able to play together. They played all weekend, sometimes team against team, sometimes a lone sniper, sometimes one would shoot them in the air and the rest would run around trying to catch them in their mouths. It was a perfect group gift. Out of 9 guns, one broke it's seal almost immediately. We were able to fix it with super glue, but it was out of commission for a day. These guns work best with slightly stale marshmallows as two guns got a very fresh marshmallow partially stuck in the tube and even though we got it out, the tube is very hard to clean. It also must be completely dry before using it again. We set them by the sink to air dry, but after 24 hours they were still wet inside. I rolled up a paper towel to shove it down, but there were still some damp spots. I ended up using a hair dryer to finish the job. If the tube is wet or damp in any way, the marshmallows will stick in the tube causing misfiring, jamming or disintegrated marshmallow sticking in the tube. On the whole this was alot of fun for all ages, and kept the kids busy all weekend.

My grandson thanked me twice for this as a birthday present. It also often makes a sort of 'burp' or fart noise if it fires multiple projectiles at once - and that adds to the hilarity, as well as kids and dogs eating stray ammo.

OTOH, it can malfunction easily. I took it apart completely and sealed all joints with (edible) greasy coconut oil - shortening or (yuck) vaseline would probably work, too. You have to keep it internally clean and free from jammed marshmallow goo. Cue Tips are useful.

In addition, it helps to examine the marshmallows and make sure that they are all the same size with none too big to prevent dreaded jam ups. Eat the ones that are too big. It's really more like an M-16 than an AK-47, if you get my drift.

This product doesn’t even deserve one star. I bought three different marshmallow guns and this one was by far the inferior! You fill the chamber and then each marshmallow that spits out a few feet takes 4-5 pumps...IF they come out. Buy something else...not this one!

We bought several of these Marshmallow Shooters from Marshmallow Fun Company. They shoot mini marshmallows 30-40 feet. The kids had a mini marshmallow battle in the back yard for hours. Super fun, easy to load. We added a tiny bit of corn starch to the bad of marshmallows and it kept them from sticking. Great gift... and now all the neighbor kids want to play, so i keep buying more. The rinse out easily, and we just let them dry in the dish rack. Great fun for all ages. Even my husband likes to get into the battles. The marshmallows bounce off so no one gets hurt, and all ages can play together.

The gun itself is pretty cool and the idea of running around and shooting marshmallows at someone is funny. But when I bought it I didn’t realize how small the marshmallows needed to be to fit. I bought the really small marshmallows and tried using those but they’re a little bit too small so they jam/get stuck while trying to shoot. I guess you can buy the ones they suggest, but that’s more money and I just wanted to use real marshmallows.

Fun! The pump action gun style isn't as much fun as the bow version, but both are a blast.
If you're looking for marksman grade accuracy, get real - this shoots marshmallows, not arrows.
NEVER put wet marshmallows in the plastic feeder tube. The stickiness will never dissipate.
Don't plan on re-using marshmallows much. After one shot, they gum up the feeder.
Tedious to load but great fun. Unexpected bonus: squirrels and crows in our neighborhood eat the marshmallows within hours, saving me the trouble of having to clean up!

i bought the marshmallow gun for my grandson on his fourth birthday. i've never seen him or any other child have so much fun with any toy. i could hear him (and the other kids) laughing even though they were outside and i was upstairs. it shoots pretty hard, but they are only marshmallows, so it's relatively harmless. it was a little hard for him to pull the trigger since he's so small, but he had help. he loved it and so did everybody else. if you're looking for a good gift for a child, a teenager, or even an adult male, this is a GREAT gift!! it was worth the money and if you're reasonably careful with it, it won't jam and it will last. i plan on getting one for my niece for her birthday.
