What a big disappointment. This punch does not punch individual letters, or enable you to punch out a message. Instead each punch just punches half the alphabet, and you're left with tiny letters to arrange yourself. You can't create "negative space." The best and only description of what it does is one of the photos on the package, which shows a little pile of letters. I actually held this item in my hand before I bought it, and was convinced that there was a way to choose the letter you wanted. If you have arthritis or are a bit clumsy, forget it. It's a waste of time and an even bigger waste of money.

I got this punch for some scrapbook projects and to help my kids learn the alphabet and spelling, etc. The letters are very small, which is what I expected. I have a few different types of papers lined up just waiting for my next new punch to test out. These passed on all three types of paper (a thin paper, a thicker, stiff type paper, and construction paper). By the third test the moisture was gone so I'm not exactly sure what caused it. Once they pass my multi paper test, I try them out on actual cardstock that I get from the store for more money than my test papers. These turned out absolutely beautiful. I think I can use these for both my home use and some of my professional projects. I compared prices on other sites and I found the best price and fastest shipping here on Amazon (at the time I purchased it was $21.86 plus tax).

Just so people understand how this works... you use the punch to get confetti type pieces that are in the shape of the letters. You cannot use it for only one letter. Instead, you punch out all of the letters in one punch. Unfortunately this means that you might waste a little paper if you wanted to get only a few letters for a name. Even with the waste, though, I would highly recommend this for small letters. If you don't have a die cut machine then this is a great option to get small letters that you can use for craft projects... and it won't cost you a ton of money (hopefully)!

The letters are a little smaller than what I wanted. I gave it a 4 because it will not cut well on thick paper.

I got the impression that the letters could be punched out individually, in order, for example, to write someone's name on a paper. Letters come all together in 2 groups.

The punch creates a nice clean stencil out of contact paper for glass etching, except that several of the letters are so close together that you have to sacrifice one letter stencil to have a suitable frame around the desired letter.

Anyone stenciling or scrapbooking needs numbers and punctuation! How can you add dates? So when are we going to see a numeric/punctuation punch set?

Needed a lot of pressure, but then again, its's a big punch. All letters punched out completely; perfect little size letters.

I purchased this mostly for my grand daughter because she loves drawing and painting. I thought she might enjoy punching the letters out and pasting them onto the picture ( to identify who the picture is to, from or who or what the picture is.) well I was right, she has really enjoyed doing that. I'm very glad I purchased this product. Shipping seemed a little slow but it did arrive within the specified time frame.
