When looking for recordings of MLK this was the only extensive audio collection i could find. Frustrated with the lack of info of this set(namely track listings) i purchased it regardless, due to no other option.
It is not awful by any means, but one can tell that there wasn't much thought given when putting all this together. this is why i took away a star, from the 5-star content.

the pro's:
- MLK sermons and speeches are a blessing
- the introductions are nice, a lot more than i expected.

the con's:
-There is no track listing booklet, or written on the back of the cases. The only listing is on each CD. So when i want to listen to a particular sermon i have to search through the 15 cds.
-Someone decided to split up his speeches in multiple tracks. I dislike this choice, for i like to listen to them whole. it can be convenient to find where ya left off though, rather than fast forwarding.
-wish there was more of his sermons available, yet i understand this set is a "best of".

regardless of the poor design, get this collection!! the greatness of MLK's speeches are worth it. (unless of course a better collection comes out)

The speeches by Dr. King are wonderful. His words and truth remain as relevant for today as they were for his own time. But I must say that I could have done without most of the lengthy introductions, especially by politicians like Ted Kennedy. A brief word or two from relatives or people that actually marched with Dr. King would have sufficed. But the good thing is that you can simply skip past the intros and get right into Dr. King's own words.

This is by far the most comprehensive collection I known of and I have a lot of speeches. My other collections are a compositions of 5 minute soundbites totaling around 40 minutes while this collection is the real deal with speeches in their entirety. And that is no small accomplishment for some of these speeches. Some of his most popular speeches are only known in small excerpts but once a listens hear the whole speech, it totally boogles the mind. Priceless and Timeless. No other collection comes close.

Yes! It more than met and exceeded my need. I did not know he was as Philosophical as he obviously was. He reminded America and the world on defiant occasions that he was a NEGRO BAPTIST PREACHER. and having read Psalm 119, I am positive, many times. Where that endowment concludes at verse 176 with "I have gone astray like a lost sheep: Seek, Lord, Me,Your Servant; for I do not forget Your Commandments."

And I believe he (MUST HAVE) concluded his research with Jesus' admonition-likeness @ John 16:13-16

This is an outstanding set and a must purchase for anyone who wants to hear, in my opinion, the greatest orator of all time. One of the best things about this set is that it includes many complete sermons, not just excerpts that one may hear during Black History month or on MLK day. The other great feature is the presentors who set the stage for the forthcoming speech. They help place the speech in the context of events that were going on when the speech was given. I highly recommend this Box Set of MLK to anyone who wants to know more about the real MLK. He's not just the 'Marble Man' in Washington D.C.

The sound quality was better than expected. The first one is a little hard to hear, but after that, excellent. The messages are beyond review. Very important messages of the time but still appropriate for today. In listening to the cds I realized a lot has changed since Dr. King started his public speaking. Sadly, many things still have not changed or still have a very long wat to go. Listen, think, and enjoy!

It very wonderful to be able to hear Dr. Martin King Jr. sermons while driving in the car I have always wanted to hear his sermons and now my husband and myself are really enjoying them as much as we can. It is a wonderful purchase and I am so happy that I made that purchase.

Just what I wanted speeches from a man whom I admire along with introductions by his colleagues who set the atmosphere prior to the speeches. Excellent quality CDs.

Beautiful coffee table book. I like to read several of these wonderful quotations when grandchildren come over. Immortal words for our next generation.
