Every element of Dynamo 300, from driver to amplifier to crossover to cabinet, is meticulously designed and manufactured to our highest standard. The result is staggering low-frequency performance for a subwoofer of its size and price. Perfect for either home theater or stereo applications, the Dynamo 300 is built with high-density materials to minimize cabinet resonance and provide a solid foundation for the high-output 8-inch woofer and high-current 75-watt, 150-watt peak amplifier. Whether you are looking for high performance bass to enhance your music experience or take your home theater system to the next level, a new Dynamo family subwoofer should be at the top of your list.

I ended up getting a Yamaha CRX-N560BL Micro Component receiver, a pair of NHT SuperZero 2.1 Mini-Monitor Speaker (Single, Gloss Black) speakers, and this subwoofer, for a moderately priced and physically unobtrusive system. Before I get into the details, I will state that this system is incredible.
When the packages were delivered, the first thing that I did was to hook up the speakers and sub into our living room, which is a large space, open to the kitchen, dining room, and hallways. I placed the NHT's on top of our existing tower speakers, and I just plopped the sub in front of one of our existing subs. I ran Audyssey to set the levels and crossover points, and then started listening to music (mostly Spotify, some vinyl). Right off the bat, the NHT's were a bit harsh, but the sub sounded fine. I wasn't thrilled at first, but I wasn't too disappointed since I would be putting this into the bedroom and critical listening wasn't at the top of my requirement list. Either way, I turned it up a bit, and let it run for several hours.
When I came back to it later that evening, the whole system really shined! The NHT's were beautiful, and the MartinLogan Dynamo 300 was delicious. The bass was plentiful, and deep. I detected no boominess at all, but rather had lush tones and growls. Feeling confident that the system could handle it, I cranked it up a bit, and loved what I heard. The MartinLogan kept up, shaking the house with tracks from Daft Punk, making me doubt whether I had correctly unplugged the big subs. Now don't get me wrong, this sub will not ultimately keep up with two 15" subs, but at reasonable, and borderline loud volumes, it was amazing.
I highly recommend this sub. Whether you're looking for home theater or music, I think this sub is a winner. For home theater, you aren't going to get reference volume for U-571, but it will do much better than you would expect from it's size and price. For music, you will be hard-pressed to do better anywhere near it's price. Heck, you could get 2 or 3 of these for the price of it's nearest competition, and you would probably still come out with better sound.
The system I added the ML to is in a smallish room (12x12) and has hardwood floors so it's very reflective for the down firing ML. The little sub fills the room with very clean and fast bass response at about 50-60% volume on the ML's volume control.
The ML was easy to hook up, I used the high power speaker ins due to a lack of line outs on my amp.
This may not be the best small sub for the glass rattling explosions on home theater especially in large carpeted rooms. But for music in small to medium rooms it pairs and blends beautifully with high end satellite speakers. I'm very pleased!
