    I bought this helmet sight unseen (like a lot of other people here). The promotional photos looked dull, flat, and someone questionable. But I'm glad I made the plunge - this helmet is amazing for the price. I've been researching the official prop for months now, and I'd say this one is 85% there. At least as good as they could do with a plastic replica for $100. There are a few details missing (mainly paint job stuff), which would be easy to add yourself. The weathering is also kind of dull - mostly just silver "scratches" painted onto the surface and a few oddly placed "grease" stains. But I think I'll end up going over it with some watered down brown/black acrylic paints to give it a more grimy realistic look. But overall the details are all there on this helmet. They did a very good job making it look like it would cost twice as much. Looks is a 10/10.

    The lenses on mine also came with some weird filmy red substance like other people have mentioned. Made them look cloudy and dirty out of the box. I tried to clean it with a paper towel and I think it scratched the plastic. It also smeared a red residue on the paper towel, so it was definitely something on the lenses from the factory. I'll probably go back over them with some rubbing alcohol and cotton swabs.

    The mask fits my head, and is probably a tad too big to accommodate a one-size-fits-all mentality. But its not very comfortable. The padding inside is hard-ish rubber, would definitely not be comfortable for long periods of time. I'll probably have to line it with softer foam so that I can wear it longer. Also the eyes are fairly hard to see out of as others have mentioned. Its not impossible, but just not quite as good visibility as expected for a mask that has proper eye holes. The vision is very narrow, and of course tinted red. Visibility is a 6/10.

    Overall I'm glad I made the purchase. Who knows how long they'll make these (as they're already sold out) - and it will be nice to have one before the scalpers skyrocket the price. If you can get one for a good price, do it. Worth the money for sure.

    It's an amazingly well detailed and feature rich prop piece for the price. No really at $99 it can't be beat. The sculpt is great. The paintwork is acceptable. The weathering feels a little to mass produced factory issue. If you are into that sort of thing you will want to redo or improve it yourself. For the real do it yourself type the helmet is a fantastic starting point for super detailing. But out of the box it is as or somewhat better than most costume or replica props that have been offered. At a fraction of the price. The fit is decent, although getting it adjusted is finicky, just as it is on all of these helmets. It's easy and intuitive to get on. The clamshell mechanism does the trick nicely.

    From the outside looking in it is stunning. Especially with the lights on. From the inside looking out? It's very very red. Ok truth is I see a lot of grumbling about vision through it. Here's the long and short of it. I have all of the recent Hasbro and Bandai adult prop helmets. The worst for being able to see out is Iron Man. (Tiny little eyeholes). Star Lord is nowhere near as bad as that. The Stormtrooper and Kylo Ren have better field of view, and if you really need to be able to see out get the Bandai Red Ranger helmet. In terms of overall quality I think StarLord runs a very close second behind Iron Man. Leaving off the weathering would have pushed it over the top.

    This is a great piece. One you will be thrilled to own, either for display, or for wearing in public. You might however wish to dress a friendly Golden Retriever up in a Russian space suit as a seeing eye space dog.

    Edit: Having had it a few more days, and finally getting to compare it to Guardians of teh Galaxy Vol 2, as that just released on video a few of my opinions have changed slightly. What I did not expect is that the weathering on this helmet is in fact a direct copy and perfect match to the weathering of the on screen prop. Every blemish and rub lines up to the on camera model. The weathering on the helmet isn't random. It's pulled from the digital models and printed directly on the helmet.

    Also this helmet is a match to the one used in Guardians 2. It's the darker graphite and bronze colors used in the second movie.

The adjustments inside made this comfortable to wear and the almost clamshell closing mechanism made locking it down on the outside easy. If the eyes are lit up it can be tough to see out of but don’t light up the eyes while you’re walking and BOOM no issue.

The biggest knock on it would be the eyes (which are cool) shutting off so quickly. It says 5 minutes if no activity (dimming them) but it’s probably more like 2. My teenage Chris Pratt loves it.

    Let's start with the good: It's solid, well built, and looks frickin' awesome. The lenses light up, and unlike other electronic helmets I've bought, this does not impede the view much. It even has Bluetooth to hook up to any smart device (except Amazon of course) to play music on built-in ear pieces.

    Now the bad: It's incredibly uncomfortable. There are two straps: one head strap, one chin strap. The head strap came fully loose, and still was very tight on my head. The chin strap was just the opposite. Tightening it as much as I can, and I can barely get it to nuzzle my face. This was not built to fit everyone, despite the fact there's enough room in the helmet for even the largest head, making it incredibly bulky. It's hard to breath, and the lenses naturally fog up easily. Expectedly, the red gives the world an awkward view, but they scratch easily. The face is designed to look like the mask has been through battle many times, but so have the lenses, making it even more difficult to see.

    I'm a grown adult who needed to be Star-Lord like many of the rest of you. So here it is:

    The product was actually better than I imagined it to be. For an adult sized head it id comfortable to wear, the adjustable straps make it easy and secure to fit on your bean and most of all? Yes! You can see and breathe in this thing! Yay breathing!

    The bluetooth sync options are really awesome so you too can listen to your Awesome Mix as you find other Star-Lords out there to challenge to a dance off, but your helmet will now supply the music. The other detail that I liked was the painting & weathering didn't look generic, it looks like you're a Ravager with a job. I don't see a need to repaint this at all, and I'm a pretty picky props painter.

    One note: The switch inside is to turn the bluetooth pairing on/off. The lights (with 3 dimming settings) is located by the right 'ear' area outside the helmet so you can poke at your helmet and look way sweet... because this is a way sweet helmet.

    If you're shopping for props/toys and you think you need this? You do.
    Warning for kids: they will swim in this thing. While the straps are adjustable the shell doesn't get any bigger so your child will look more like the Star-Lord Pop Vinyl figure than the on-screen version.

The product itself is great, fits better than I thought it would. My one complaint, which seems to be echoed by other reviews, is smudgy lenses. It's really hard to clean off, if it can be at all. Not a game changer though. It'll make for a boss Halloween costume and is detailed enough to be a fun shelf decoration in the off season.
