The body is a reuse of the Ghost bodymold from the SDCC exclusive Thunderbolts set. It works well for Jack's wiry physique. Only problem is that it makes him hard to stand because the joints are so thin and rubbery (more on that in the articulation section). Making that worse is his large bulbous head. Yet I don't mind because this head is just very well sculpted. The flames flow nicely and it transitions from a dark orange to a yellow the more it reaches out which is nice. The grin he has is also fitting for the character. I would not be surprised if we saw a new classic Jack using this head. I also would not mind it because I seriously love it. Also newly sculpted is his belt, which has four pumpkin bombs attached. Jack has only used pumpkin bombs once as I can recall, but it's an appreciated detail nonetheless. I almost think it could be reused for a modern Green Goblin.
Jack here has the mostly standard Legends articulation. Only exception is that he only has wrist swivels without any hinges. The hands are expressively posed enough that you really don't need hinges if you ask me. I do wish he had a boot swivel but he doesn't. He's not worse for it, but it'd be appreciated if they were there. Another thing to note is that his hips are on y-jointed ball hips rather than the much preferred t-jointed ball hips. This means you have to play with his legs if you want them to move forward. Finally, I think the ratchets on shoulder joints are waaaaaay too tight. I feel like each time I move them, I'll break the peg his shoulder swivel is on because the plastic is so soft. That's just because I've had a Legends figure break on me there due to similar circumstances and I'm sure it'll be fine otherwise.
Jack has a decent set of accessories here. First he comes with the leg you can attach to the Absorbing Man Build-a-Figure. But the best accessories are his trademark broomstick and sickle. These accessories have huge handles you can use to attach them to his hands. This works alright, but I would've preferred interchangeable grabbing hands. I don't have much use for the broomstick now, but I love that they included it. If you have a flightstand of some kind, you'll be able to get your full usage out of it. He looks good on it. Also included is a translucent pumpkin bomb. If you have the bomb from the Hobgoblin BAF, this is the same but in a darker plastic. Decently sculpted but nothing to write home about. He can hold it decently in either of his hands but his right one holds it better than the left one.
Despite my issues, I love this figure. The headsculpt is extremely well done, his accessories are nice, and I just really like this character. I'm glad out of the many many versions of Jack O' Lantern there are, Hasbro decided to give us this one. If you have the Agent Venom figure Hasbro released sometime back, then this guy will make a great companion piece. Be careful with those shoulders, though.
That is a lot of negatives but I still really dig this guy. The flaming pumpkin looks great. The way the flames catches the light in the translucent sculpt is wonderful. His skinny body gives off this monster vibe that I love.
