Product Description

Size: Large

Pulse oximeters measure light absorption in the finger to noninvasively monitor oxygen saturation and pulse rate. They are being increasingly used for general wellness and health applications including sports, fitness, and relaxation management. The iSpO2 pulse oximeter provides the following parameters: Oxygen Saturation (SpO2) is a measure of the oxygen saturation level in the arterial blood. Higher oxygen saturation indicates more oxygen in the arterial blood. Oxygen saturation can change due to a number of factors, including lung or heart function and altitude. Pulse Rate (PR) indicates the number of pulses per minute. This parameter is useful for assessing overall fitness as well as exertion levels at a particular moment in time. Perfusion Index (PI) is the ratio of the pulsatile blood flow to the nonpulsatile blood in peripheral tissue and is used to measure peripheral blood flow. A higher PI indicates higher blood flow. The iSpO2 quantifies key physiologic variables: in the morning, before or after exercise, at bedtime, or anytime you want to know if you are at your best. The Masimo Personal Health App coupled with your iSpO2 allows you to track and trend your measurements over time and share the data via email. The iSpO2 comes in six versions: small and large options for lightning and 30 pin connectors (iOS devices) and micro USB (Android devices). Masimo pulse oximeters are the leading brand in hospitals because they provide accurate measurements when other pulse oximeters fail by using a revolutionary invention called Signal Extraction Technology (SET), which measures through challenging conditions including movement and low blood flow. With iSpO2, the same high-performing Masimo SET technology is now available for general wellness and health applications.

I am a nurse and was surprised to discover that this ispo2 pulse ox was identical (shape, design, brand with the exception of the connection point) to the pulse ox I use at my hospital. Correspondingly, I put the ispo2 pulse ox I purchased on my finger and the hospital pulse ox on the same finger opposite hand to test accuracy. Readings were virtually identical, with a variance of only 1% from one O2 sat to another. I was almost scared people would think I was stealing a hospital O2 sat when I put the one I purchased in my bag after testing it as it was virtually the same monitor. Of note I purchased the small O2 sat by accident, and am 130lbs. Interestingly enough the small O2 sat appears to be what my hospital is using too. I suppose they only order smalls as they are a Childrens hospital; however most of my kids on my floor are audulescents and exceed the weight limit for the small, some by many pounds. They have not provided the staff with an alternate O2 sat for larger kids. Never released there were two sizes until order my own. Thus, I am keeping the small as I have small fingers and am making the assumption if it is good enough for my hospital (a top ranked hospital) and my patients it is good for me :).app works well on iPhone 5s and iPad Air. Basic but good... Added pics of hospital monitor so you can see how it is the same with exception of adopter. Again mine is for children.

Works as advertised, with the exception of recording time. It states it will record up to 12 hours of data at a time, but from a fully charged iPhone 5, I was only able to get 3 hours of recording before the battery was drained. If there was a way to power the phone and record data at the same time it would have received 5 stars.

I just wish it better data control, and a few other features that should be simple to implement.

1) an alarm for low O2 levels. It's not that hard to add.
2) better control over graphing
3) longer recording, turn off screen after a few minutes to extend battery life.

a few more, but the above 3 would make the product much more useful.

Device works great with my Ipad. Purchased it to do a sleep study. The data for 9 hours is easy to load into Microsoft Excel and plot for the whole night. Found that back sleeping is bad, side sleeping much better.

I wanted to monitor my oxygen while I slept. It recorded for six hours while I was a sleep using an iPhone 6 before the battery went dead on the phone. It graphs the result. You can download the detail data. Oxygen and pulse data every second is provided. Used Excel to evaluate the data. It starts a new file each time you use it so it is easy to separate the data.
The length of the cord is not very long for my purpose. I tried using a thunderbolt extension and it would not recognize the device. I would have liked a longer cord so my iPhone would be a lower risk of falling while I slept. I would like to have longer battery or ability to charge while being used. The extension would have helped as well. My ideal would be a cord that would allow me to plug in my phone and have a longer cord.

Nearly perfect. Best yet! This is my third pulse ox meter. First one that's connected. The graphic beats have helped us identify a mild arythmia which I'd felt, but no one's seen it. Now they can. I find the beat audio helpful since it tracks by tone the beats. Higher pitch for faster beats. Connected easily to my iPad. Haven't tried the phone, but iPad is fine.
I would agree with one reviewer that the "history" is not simple to see, but I honestly haven't studied the directions. I'm very glad I upgraded to this device.

I'm trying to use it for recording things like when i sleep, or when i go for a run. But it's very flaky in retaining it's history, oddly "resetting" and losing the info. I contacted customer support but got a flippant "The iSPO2 is not intended for continuous monitoring. It is intended for Spot checking of SpO2." Yeah that's all they said, actually. I've replied with details and requested they loop in a supervisor, let's see if they shape up. From other reviews regarding their customer support, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Which is a shame, because the product seems at it's core really good. Just some tweaks, a bit better App software, and way (way) better support.

Purchased this for my wife prior to some surgeries to monitor status at home. She was having some heart-rate abnormalities prior to her procedures. Trusted Masimo as that is the brand our hospital uses. The Ipod app is easy to use and the ability to track and download your stats is handy. The report that is generated in one-second intervals, so can be a bit lengthy, but VERY informative to track changes. We could determine exactly when she climbed the stairs, woke up from her sleep, etc. As disclosed by Masimo, this should NOT be presumed to be a medical-grade device, although it DOES work on the same principals as the hospital units, so I trust it...

I love this highly portable pulse oximeter which is easy to hide away and carry everywhere AND has hospital grade accuracy. The soft carrying case is small enough to fit in a pocket. The iPhone app has a nice scrolling chart that makes it feel like fancy expensive medical equipment. I also have the MightySat (Bluetooth + Pleth Variability Index + Respiration Rate) which measures extra parameters. The biggest practical difference is that you can use the MightySat longer continuously without having to depend on the iPhone battery.

So far my readings have been very consistent. Masimo pioneered the signal detection algorithms for pulse oximetry used in hospitals around the world. The iSpO2 uses same professional level technology which remains far ahead of the competition. Masimo is a US medical device company based in Irvine, California.
