This mask is designed for surface swim(less than 10 feet). However, if you go completely under water, it would just depend on how long you feel comfortable under the water without having to come up for air!
We only recommend a few feet as the mask performs best at surface snorkeling
1. Kids under 12 years old need to use the mask under adult's supervision.
2. To dive or jump into water by wearing mask is not suitable.
3. Please make sure you order the right mask size in order to get the best snorkeling experience.

These worked great for me. The stopper did what it should, I never got water in my mask from the snorkel part. The mask easily sealed around my face. Especially with the sunscreen I had on. The deeper I dove the better the seal in fact. When I let water in by putting the mask on while in the water it drained right out the bottom. I have asthma and even when swimming hard and breathing heavy the mask had no seal problems. I did need to occasionally get more air than I could pull through the mask, but like I said, asthma. The view was great. However, I used a baby shampoo film to prevent fogging.
The cons. It didn't fit my girlfriend's face to seal completely. There was always a small leak on the face seal for her. The child size was too small, so something to keep in mind, two sizes probably doesn't fit all. Also, it does eventually fog. Slower than a normal mask though I found using some kind of antifog solution was helpful.
Overall, I highly recommend, if the size is right and you can prevent the eventual fogging. These were a fantastic way to go snorkeling in Hawaii.
The surprising thing was how difficult it is to breathe in these - you have to apply effort to push the air in and out if you're upright. It eases up a little if you lay face down in the water, in proper snorkeling position.
The water blocking floater ball worked great too...I'd dunk at full speed, and it instantly cut off the air and water flow. It's a little scary until you get used to it, because you don't even have a snorkels length's worth of extra air to suck down after submersion...you are just instantly cut off from oxygen. Surfacing again, you don't get any water down the tube, you're just suddenly able to breathe again. Clever system!
Original review: Bought this for my spouse - I already have one in a different model, and wanted to see if there was any appreciable difference.
Overall, we both like it. The mask and straps fit her head well (got the L/XL size), she says she feels like a Power Ranger with it on, and was sad when I told her there were pink ones out there we could've gotten instead. (We got the all black in case we ever need to make a snorkeling escape on a night time river from bad guys. Don't judge. We may buy a pink one just so she can feel like Amy Jo Johnson during recreation.)
The seal seems watertight around her face - we filled the bathtub and dunked her head in for a bit. There's a floating ball to help seal the snorkel when you submerge, so water doesn't suddenly come down the tube - just don't do somersaults or turn upside down and you'll be fine. The snorkel itself doesn't fold down like my own model, it comes unattached. You can pop it on and off by a small plastic tab that clips it in place, and it seems pretty sturdy from there. Plus this non-folding design just looks a lot sleeker and cooler, like being a futuristic narwhal or space unicorn.
All of these masks seem to claim they're fog resistant, but I think it's just smart to buy fog-treating chemicals to apply to the lens. Regular breathing on land results in the mouth and nose area instantly fogging in seconds. Not sure if colder water temperatures will counteract that.
Also comes with a GoPro mounting kit, instructions, a spare O-ring seal in case the first one breaks, and a mesh carry bag.
Can't wait to take our masks out for a real swim, will update when the weather permits!
I have long hair and always struggle with the two piece snorkel and mask sets because my hair gets all wrapped around it. I like that it's simple and a single piece to carry to the beach. I've never seen hard-core free divers wear these, and I have no idea why. But if you're a casual snorkeler, or if you're planning a beach vacation and want to bring your own snorkel and mask, I can't recommend this one enough. It's perfect!
