A gang of bloodthirsty masked men are slashing their way through the land leaving a sizable trail of bodies in their wake. Can a band of kung-fu heroes uncover the identities of these masked assassins before they are all dead?
Chang Cheh and the Venom Mob are back with another film of high energy fights and heroic bloodshed with a twisting suspense thriller plot. It has a solid plot with some good twists and turns. The body count in this movie is through the roof and would make Jason Voorhees feel inadequate. Like all Venom Mob movie the fights are the real treat, especially the blistering final fight in the killer’s wacky fun house of death. The unique plot, you don’t need to be a real expert to figure out most of the twists before the end, but it is different and different in a kung-fu movie is always welcome. The Shaw Brothers studio system had the ability to try out different types of story and produced some of the most original kung-fu films out there. The fun house of death at the end is a great set piece of creative traps. This is probably my third favorite of the Venom Mob movies behind Five Venoms, of course, and House of Traps. It is a combination of the two, the more mysterious plot and the creative sets with heaps of bloodshed.
