Assistant Kris Overland and artist Gabriel Rhodes came to Ellen Rosings, asking to have a Halloween reenactment of Edgar Allen Poe’s, “The Masque of the Red Death.” A Goth event, where all the tearooms are decorated to match the story line, only after her staff does she agree to hold the event.
What is tearoom resident ghost, Captain Dusenberry up to, well it would give away some of the story-line to tell you. Maria Hidalgo and the Captain are a separate story line and I believe more will be forthcoming in additional books.
The on again off again relationship between Ellen and Detective Tony Aragon heats up in this book. Again more for another book, I love the way Ms. Greenwood captures Santa Fe, the feeling of the tearoom and its characters brings you into the story-line and begging for more.
Plus, the mysteries are quite good mysteries, with the deduction process gradual and believable. It's a charming series, and I look forward to each new book!
Ellen's romance did not heat up more. I certainly hope there will be a follow up book #6 that includes these two who make a great couple. Very good mysteries.
And what is happening with Ellen and the handsome Detective Aragon?
This and many questions might be answered in this book, or the next book will help clear some of this up. I'm just waiting to read that next installment to find out.
