The exhausting amount of information and plethora of anecdotes in the celluloid eco horror sub genre is a testament to the authors knowledge. From all things creepy crawly, reptilian, simian, marine, feathered, feline and of course canine - this book has you covered and then some!
This reads like a love letter between the author and these classic movies. Like "The Swarm" (1978) this book has me buzzing! So hop to it like the lepus would (Night of the Lepus 1972), migrate to it like "The Birds" (1963) would - and snap it up like the "Alligator" (1980). This exemplary presentation of animals on the attack will pull you down with its death grip!
As a nice bonus for us fans, there are some very nice interviews with Dee Wallace, Ellen Greene, Fangoria's Chris Alexander, Bert I. Gordon, Veronica Cartwright, Danny Pintauro (Cujo), Composer Charles Bernstein, Belinda Balaski, John Sayles, Patty McCormack, Brooke Theiss (A Nightmare On Elm Street 4), Jeff Lieberman, Tommy Lee Wallace, Lawrence D.Cohen and William Grefe.
I highly recommend this book.

The author is not a film historian but his background is writing short pieces for the childish Fangoria magazine.Read more
