From the Manufacturer
Master Appliance's Solderseal electrical connector kits consist of only the highest quality solder and heat seal connectors. Connectors are soldered for strength and conductivity, and heat sealed for superior durability. Low temperature pre measured solder with flux for greater tensile strength and superior current flow. Uniform adhesive does not overflow onto terminal to impede contact. Tubing does not reduce in length creating better insulation along with superior wire support and strain relief. Translucent, adhesive lined polyolefin shrink tubing allows visual inspection, prevents wire corrosion, and provides a water and contaminant resistant seal.

These things absolutely, positively SUCK! I know they sound like a great idea but I can't count the electrical issues I've had to troubleshoot over the years (state plow equipment mostly) where I'd spend hours locating a problem, just to find it was one of these!! You can look at them all you want, they can look perfect and STILL have a break in continuity. Their failure rate is as high as 50%...even in under-dash work where they're not in the elements. And they're expensive! 9 times out of 10 you end up with a cold solder and it's only a matter of time before it fails. It's nearly impossible to get them hot enough for good solder flow without burning the insulation. MAYBE if you're only using BRAND NEW wire (not a repair) and IF you get lucky you might get one to last but don't bet on it - and don't even THINK of trying to use them on used wire! The equipment I work on is set up in a central garage where they spend months prepping new trucks before we get them, supposedly ready to go. You're talking installation of a LOT of wiring for warning lights, etc., and they use nothing but brand new materials, they insist on using these and I am constantly plagued with breakdowns with electrical problems that stem from the use of these things. Just solder the wires and use a separate shrink tube, it's as good as you're going to get (not perfect but it works better than anything else) and a lot, LOT better than these. Trust me, after 30 years on this job I know what I'm talking about. I'd rate these zero stars if I could. Nothing but trouble - every time - guaranteed!!
