By J. Chambers HALL OF FAMETOP 10 REVIEWER on January 23, 2014
Format: Paperback
NOTE: This review is reposted from my review of the Kindle edition.

In the book Master the Art of Achieving, author Dasrim Hasik writes that there are many self-help books on becoming successful, but he believes that their wisdom is not organized into a cohesive, comprehensible system that can be followed by most people. The purpose of this book is to enable readers to be effective in achieving the results they want. To define "success," the author relies on motivational speaker and author Earl Nightingale's definition: The pursuit and realization of a worthwhile goal.

And that's what this book is about. Using case studies and self-evaluations as you progress through the steps, the author presents and describes his proposed D.P.A.R. system: Desire ~ Plan ~ Action ~ Results

According to the author, faithfully following the DPAR system will allow you to pinpoint and eliminate whatever is holding you back from success, then move forward in a planned manner to reach your goal. His system requires a lot of work - it's not a casual pursuit, by any means - but achieving success, however you define it, is not going to be easy for most people. In my opinion, the system appears to be sound and has a good chance of being effective if someone follows it faithfully.

The difference form other self improvement books that I've came across is that this book shares a honest and personal story about a regular guy who managed to take his life from boring and depressing to something meaningful and enjoyable.

Hasik's book shows how to focus our attention on the skill sets
required for a successful endeavor.. The author explains how
people get side-tracked by simply desiring success, analyzing things
forever, workaholic traits and self doubt.

Hasik provides a simple to understand focus on how to achieve success
by focusing on the skills requisite to mastering specific tasks. First, the
author points toward the need to demonstrate wisdom as an indicator
of applied knowledge and not just an accumulation of facts. Ultimately,
successful people develop good judgment and acumen based upon
their knowledge of common facts in the trade or business.

The beauty of this book is that the author has simplified the complex
area of mastering skills so that readers can set realistic goals and
implement milestones incrementally. The book is easy to understand
and the steps set forth are well grounded in simple logic.
