#1 Many Complaints about people cutting themselves with this blender....Well....the blades are sharp!! Use common sense!!!! They need to be sharps to cut up leafy vegetables!
#2 Cutting of the outer plastic container. HOW?!? I haven't figured! The only way to do this is if the lid just isn't properly on. Not using common sense.
#3 Blender melting to blades. Well this one had be worried. But after using it. The blades have yet to get hot in that spot. You would literally have to use this blender for 10 minutes non stop to make that happen. If you plan on abusing your blender. This blender probably will not work for you.
Due to my worries. I splurged and spent 4 dollars on the 4 year extended warranty. I understand that 4 dollars on top of the 39.99 for the professional series type blender can break the bank. But I decided to not buy myself a coffee that day and to go for the warranty.
BTW the food processor and chopper both work great. No problems. For blending, I have thrown everything at it, no problems.
I also use my NMP to make shaved ice for snow cones, drinks, and dessert and it works great! It grinds the ice cubes into a nice powder. I use the smaller container to chop any veggies for other dishes that require finer pieces. Great for onions, carrots, and makes wonderful guacamole too!
So far, I've made a few smoothies, margaritas and my first batch of baby food. Unlike with my old food processor, this blends to a smooth consistency and doesn't leave big chunks (unless you want them of course). And unlike my old blender, I no longer have to tip, stir and bang it on the counter to get the air bubbles out.
The clean up was fairly easy as there weren't any weird crevices for food to get caught in and it takes up minimal space in my cupboard.
Highly recommended for anyone needing a smaller processor/blender hybrid!
Bought this to replace a blander that was broken. Now I'll never go back. press down to 'pulse' just a few times for chunky salsa, a few more times for a smooth shake or guacamole. Easy to clean and wears well. I hand wash this, so I'm not sure if it holds up as well if washed in a dishwasher.
- Very powerful blending power. Makes smoothies in less than 10 seconds.
- 2 containers with different sizes.
- Cleaning up is much easier than other big bulky blenders.
- For the price, this is the best blender you can get.
- The blade can wear out over time. After a while, you would have to press a few seconds longer to see the same results. However this is not significant.
The Master Prep is great. Smoothies are easy, other kitchen chores such as chopping almonds, onions etc into small bits go easily-and quickly, as a little pulse goes a long way. No issues with ice cubes at all. Use pulsing, not long holds on the power. A couple of short bursts usually is all you need. I use it every day, or just about, and am really pleased I bought it.
The only slightly negative comments are more about keeping it clean than its performance.
The blades are super sharp, which is great in the container, a must-watch-out-for when washing.
The small container is somewhat narrow, which means that yogurt etc can get on the stem of the blades pretty easily, and can migrate up into the head. An occasional swipe of the bottom of the power head is a good idea to clean off any food remnants. I try to face the spoon to the outside with drippy stuff when putting anything goopy in.
Separate the blades from each other when washing-stuff gets up into the hollow.
Occasionally the pulsing lid collects food up in a narrow place that is above the rim-a toothpick works wonders to clean it out.
I can easily recommend this.
