The major difference I find is in the response time. The Master Cook thermometer is MUCH slower in registering the final temperature - almost three times as slow as the Cooper-Atkins. While for many folks that may not be a big deal, for me it is when I have to work quickly or may be holding my hand over a hot pot and range.
Over all the Master Cook thermometer works just fine for the money and has the same functional features. However, if your looking for quick response time you may want to consider another option.
My only complaint is , its hard to read the small numbers when I put it into the turkey, meat, etc. unless I have my glasses on !
I would not deduct a point for that, cause its my problem.
The first thing I noticed was that the metal used for the grill was quite thin and thus not very sturdy at all. When I finally got to use the grill a few other things became apparent too. As others have mentioned the grill comes up to temperature quickly. Temperature also falls quickly when the grill is opened.
I have used the grill now 15 -20 times and I seem to have a lot more flare ups and more difficulty cooking with this grill than I did with the Char Broil grill. After about five uses the thermometer would not return to zero correctly...now the thermometer is completely unreadable as the display is tarnished on the inside. At about 10 uses, the point began peeling away.
I just can't see this grill lasting more than one season.
