"None of the MasterCook products at Amazon come with a free, one-year subscription to MasterCook. It is not advertised on their product pages either. At this time the only way to get a free, one-year subscription to MasterCook.com is to purchase the download only at our website."

Also, it costs us money to have accounts at MasterCook.com now, so we will unfortunately have to close your online account soon if you don't purchase a subscription. Hopefully you can figure out why your computer isn't allowing the program to fully work so you can use a subscription at MasterCook.com.
Prior to this I used Living Cookbook 15 (which was also excellent), but I found that kept printing recipes to take down to the kitchen.
I have downgraded this from a 5 to a 3, specifically as the syncing portion REALLY leaves something to be desired. When it works, it works great. But when it doesn't it causes a whole lotta grief. I only have 30 recipes entered, and synced to an online account. Twice now, it creates a "1" version of my cookbook, and starts adding recipes to that. No clue why. But then it starts thinking that it needs to delete recipes from the online account. As I add new recipes, I quickly make sure to export them into a holding area just in case I need to remove everything and start from scratch.
Update #2. Even after working with technical support, I continue to have issues with the online syncing removing all my recipes. They had me do an uninstall/reinstall, taking all the defaults. I did exactly what they instructed me to do. I thought it was all set. 2 months later, same issue. Thankfully for my diligence of exporting recipe copies after each addition. I would like to see a sync option in future versions that will let you specify your sync options (e.g. only from PC to online, vice versa, or both directions.
This software seems easy enough to use if you are starting with an empty cookbook. It is just a disappointment if you want to move from a previous database.
