I have been following Alex for a while on Modern Health Monk and I like his common sense approach toward diet and exercise. The same philosophy comes through in this book. Changing your food intake by itself is not going to change the psychology behind why you were eating in the first place. I've had so many friends follow different diets such as Weight Watchers, NutriSystem, The Military Diet only to gain the weight back once they quit. Unless you work on the underlying reasons for why you are eating, NO diet will ever work. This is a book all about life style changes for life-long success. Alex addresses these issues in very easy steps that can be applied to any facet of your life. This is not a boot camp style diet and exercise program. You will not be told what you can and cannot eat; how often and intense you have to work out. It is simply normal day-to-day life. Something that can be used and managed by even the busiest person.
This book is so much more than how to get healthy. It contains methods that can be implemented in any aspect of your life whether it be financials, goal setting or relationships.
Thank you Alex for writing this common sense book for all of us!
You will come back to this book time and time again because you will get something new out of it every time you read it. If you aren't a reader, one chapter at a time will still get you progress but trust me you will want to keep reading!
I started working with Alex almost a year ago and my life has changed so dramatically! It didn't take long for my a-ha moment to hit. My husband and I have lost 70 pounds by changing 2 simple habits and mastering the day! And the best news...there's no turning back! There's no reason to stop! We are not on a diet. We don't deprive ourselves of whole food groups or a night out once in a while. We are happier and healthier than we have been our whole lives!

It's helpful that Alex shares both attainable philisophical ideas and provides easy and do-able steps to get started, which for me is the hardest part.
It's a plan I can LIVE with. I believe the next 30 or so years are going to be the best for me, I'm going to be the best me I can be, after reading and digesting "Master the Day"
