Locks of this size are easy to break, so their use is mainly as a deterrent against casual snooping, and more importantly, as a seal, to indicate that the locked object was not tampered with.
For example, for use for gun cases, luggage, and toolboxes, the presence of the lock intact should indicate that the lock was not removed without the key.
However, there is a major flaw with this particular lock. The locking lever, the lever which locks the shackle into the body is exposed through the keyway. Since there is only one lever, it is trivial to insert any thin and sufficiently strong object and manually retract the lever, as shown in the video. A broken key extractor is being used for this purpose in the video, but any thin metal blade like object which can fit into the keyway can be used.
With this in mind, this lock should not be used when there are legal ramifications to believing the lock is secure, such as for luggage and gun cases. If one is responsible for the contents of the case, one cannot afford to have such a security vulnerability.
This bypass is a well known exploit of this kind of locking mechanism.
Purposely ordered this item so I wouldn't have to go make 2 extra keys - I need 4.
Note that these are very small locks...only 3/4" and lightweight. These are small indeed, but they'll still lock things up nicely. They are not indestructible of course, nothing is. But they will deter the casual interloper from getting into whatever you want to keep them out.
If, however, you want some lock that looks big and intimidating, this one is probably not what you need. I would recommend you sketch out the lock on a paper based on the product description and decide if it will help you.
I would recommend a product picture with some reference object put side by side to the lock to give customers better sense of the actual size.

The locks are as expected, but when ordering 3 locks, I would expect 6 keys, two for each. Now I have 3 locks and only two keys.Published 12 days ago by R. Pettinato
