Pros: It's cute and tiny, and Master Lock brand; which is why I gave it a chance in the first place.

Cons: Anyone with more than twenty brain cells will walk off with your stuff.

Note: This is NOT a pack of four, even though the description makes it look like it might be.

Review: Let's be clear, I'm fully aware that anyone with a $20 bolt cutter can defeat even the best of cable locks. We all know that if someone has their mind set on taking your stuff, they're gonna do it.

Cable locks are just a deterent. They tell the would-be crook or bored teenager, "If you want THIS bike, you're gonna have to fuss with it for awhile, and someone might see you." Most ne're-do-wells will just move on.

But this lock gives up the goods with no fuss at all! Even in the fully locked position, you can just jerk the cable right out. One firm jerk. DONE. You could do it while standing in a crowd of nosey good samaritans, and I doubt anyone would notice. Someone hunched over the lock (like the real owner might do while unlocking his stuff) could do it in 2 seconds, with no tools, in virtual silence.

I really was hoping for something more from Master Lock, but this is just a worthless piece of junk plastic. The sad thing is, with a slight re-design, this could actually become quite a handy little device. But as is, the only people you'll be protected from are those honest enough not to touch your stuff in the first place.

They are utterly worthless. I bought two of these to lock up my snowboard, but after playing around, I just threw them into the trash (unfortunately I'd thrown out the packaging, and with shipping it wasn't worth returning).

Even when locked, you can easily pop them open. Seriously, just push the button and wiggle and they pop open. Doesn't even take much effort. I don't know how they even allowed this product out the door.

Return them if you can. Throw them out if you can't. They're completely worthless.

This lock isn't the strongest lock, for sure. But I wasn't trying to lock up gold bars in the middle of the ghetto. I just used it to lock my backpack to the frame of my seat on an overnight bus in South America. Without the cable lock, I think a nimble thief might be able to wiggle my bag out. With the cable lock, he has to get under my legs and either crack the combination or break out some cable cutters. I also used it in restaurants, to lock my bag to my chair so that opportunists wouldn't walk off with my bag. I noticed that if you don't push the cable into the lock hard enough, it seems to be locked, but really isn't. With a sharp tug, the cable pops out. So, you have to push the cable all the way into the lock to lock it. Dunno if the people who complained about the weakness of the lock were making this mistake or not, but in my case that is what I noticed. So long as you use it correctly and recognize that it is not meant for super high security, I think that it is a great value.

Just received this in the mail yesterday. Put it to work today. I followed the directions for setting up my personal pin code. I even watched a video on how to do it. Seemed simple enough. Set it up. Tested it numerous times to make sure pin was correct before using it. Placed it on the item I needed locked (in my case a side by side refrigerator). My daughter came and pulled once on refrigerator doors only to find it locked. She gave it a pretty good yank before realizing that I locked it.

**NOTE TO ANYONE THINKING OF CALLING CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES**
My daughter has special needs and cannot control herself when it comes to food (she's a hoarder). She is too smart for the child proofing locks out there so I needed to resort to padlocks now.

Back to my review.... I just went to get some things out of the fridge for dinner and tried to unlock it. It didn't work. I tried at least 7 times before getting frustrated. I went to the other lock I bought (I had bought two: one for the cabinet and the other for the fridge) and looked at it again. Tested it with the pin code I chose. It worked fine. Went back to other lock and it still wouldn't work. Had to resort to just yanking it as hard as I could and giving it a slight twist to get it let loose. It did and quite easily.

This lock is extrememly light duty and can't even stand up to a 50 pound kid giving it a good yank. It's a great concept but needs some major redesigning. The plastic casing is thin as is the retractible cable. I would gladly had paid more for a better design (metal casing versus plastic) and a better pin code mechanism. I still don't know why it won't work with the pin code I set up. It was the same pin code on both locks AND I tested it several times before putting it on the fridge doors. I expected more from Master Lock. So, unless you want your item stolen or broken into, better to get a thick cable and a metal Master Lock.

I needed this for my bathroom cabinet. Someone has been stealing my meds so I bought this to lock them up. I put it around the two faceing door knobs and lock it up. Inconvenient but at least it works.

You know, it kinda doesn't look elegant. Not sure why I thought it would look awesome, but it just looks like plastic and seems kinda cheap, flimsy. I'm slightly dubious it will hold up to what I need it for, but so far it has been fine.
