Product Description
The quiet town of South Arc is about to have some monster trouble. Foul creatures with serious attitude problems have infested nearby forests and are now slowly moving into the village. The townsfolk, fearful for their safety, do not even dare to leave their homes. Calls for help have gone unanswered, likely because every other town in the Kingdom is similarly troubled. As a young lad off in search of your calling, you stumble across a talking shovel. The verbose tool forcibly binds you to the task of digging a dungeon on the outskirts of South Arc, hoping to bait and trap the scrounging monsters. Looks like you found your calling, Master of the Monster Lair. Now start digging!

I was somewhat skeptical on how this game would play out, it read as if it would be boring. I was completely wrong, thankfully! I enjoyed the dungeon creation aspect and even more so, the method on which you develop your character's stats. There's no experience points here or level system - you eat different types of food (created through recipes and ingredients) to develop your characters stats. I thought this was an awesome change to some traditional RPG element-type games. Although, sometimes when you're attempting a certain ingredient you keep getting armor instead - That's worth that -1/4 star right there!
The battle system is turn based - The only thing I would've appreciated would be a `who has next turn' indicator, like the slider that shows who will attack next that you see in certain games. It would've made combat a little less frustrating, but probably too easy.
The story is pretty simplistic, given that your main setting is a small town and a dungeon. Personally, I'm enjoying the storyline and the characters, esp. the furniture shop pair that will attempt to turn anything into their profit. It's more dialog driven enjoyment than the actual story - if that makes sense, I've no idea because I'm on my fourth drink...
I haven't tried out the `share a dungeon' function or whatever. Simply - You can share dungeons with your friends! None of my friends have this game, but I'm sure this function is pretty cool!
I have way too many games, ps3, 360, computer, DS...this game is dominating my time. So, if you like somewhat RPG on a small closed world map, but enjoy the idea of customizing your own dungeon! Multiple levels (20? I think) and rooms (no clue how many)...than you'll probably enjoy this game!
20 levels may seem fast, but I've probably packed in a good 8-10 hours and I'm only on depth level 7. I'm taking it slow, enjoying the dungeon creating.
Peace!
This time I own a copy, this time with a game case that’s in good condition, and it works great!
I’ve enjoyed the My World My Way game series, because of its unique game mechanics, good clean humor, and a good story arc that comes with it.
I recommend this to anyone 15 years and up for anyone who wants a break from vulgar humor and mature content.
This game is worth the time, money, and fun. :)
It does kind of feel a little intended-for-12-year-olds. Probably because it is. But I try not to let is distract me from stalking the dark dungeon interiors for phat loot.
Though, I swear, if Sora from KH and Laguna from RF had a love child, that kid is totally him.
Atlus games are ALWAYS AWESOME.
Pros:
Cute graphics
Simple controls
Great storyline
Unique way of 'leveling' your stats.
Cons:
You can't choose the name or gender of your hero.
