"The eerie opening dreamsequence in Veal's novel creates a sexy inevitability. An enticing supernaturalplot with an initially frisky pace ..."
Thistimeless story personifies a magnitude of emotions thatrange from heartache, lust, revenge, and ultimately LOVE. The authoreffortlessly fuses the worlds ofthe mortal with the supernatural, whilestill making the storyline pleasantlybelievable. This is not atraditional vampire novel. It absolutely stands abovethe rest.

Veal's writing style issomewhat different in that he writes in a niche between Gothic horror andmodern day vampire literature that no other author has delved into yet. He isone of only a small handful of authors who adhere to the classical, lethalvampire instead of the more popular romanticized versionsportrayed in current literature. His characters are not the modernwhitewashedversion of vampires but more of a cross between Bram Stoker'svampiresand the ones found in present day paranormal literature. Whilethey arelikable they are ~ NOT ~ human and the body count that piles upisastounding even though the vast majority of the victims are criminalsof theworst sort.

... this is written by a male author, in a first-person femalecharacter'svoice. The author got so under the skin of Katelyn, espousedhersensibilities so well, that I was totally blindsided by his gender.
The love between the twocharacters is simple and pure. I found myselfcaptivated by the beautifuldescriptions and world that the author hascreated.
