I admit I bought the book because I was curious about how the author would show how a dog would inspire leadership lessons. I wasn't disappointed. The author covers all the basics in this book and does explain how they are inspired by dogs. The book is a good read with a lot of information.
When I saw Dr. Kelly's book mentioned on Twitter, I knew I had to read it because it combined two subjects I care about: Dogs and leadership. As well, since I've trained several dogs over the years, I was anxious to see how she connected the two.
In my own dog training experiences, I've learned that most dog behavioral problems are leadership problems with the human, not problems with the dog. And Dr. Kelly confirms that finding. With that perspective, I liked how she compared dog training skills to people training skills. And the stories from her military career and personal life are great examples... and often funny, too. Enjoyable read!
Dr. Kelly’s book has practical techniques that you can actually try out to improve your leadership! This is invaluable information to have in a world full of vague guidance and theory when is comes to leadership.
