The word "mastering" should be removed from the title and replaced with "using" or "introduction".
If you have bought "Mastering Autocad" books in the past and have those huge thick books full of detailed step by step instructions for all of the basics and a lot of the advanced features, then you will be sorely disappointed with this book. Granted this book is better than nothing especially considering it is the only REVIT MEP 2011 book on the market and the alternative is the message board at Autodesk or the abysmal and completely void of any useful content programs help files.
This book would make a great in the box instruction manual that comes with the program and Autodesk should consider buying the rights to it, while we wait for the real "Mastering" book.
My humble advice, buy the book it is better than nothing but keep your expectations low.
For what it is worth I have been using Autocad for 12 years and Revit for 3 months.
(It has been almost 10 months since I wrote that review, and Revit was one hell of a learning curve. I am by no means a master or expert at Revit but I can design and use it with comfort as a room full of people watch me during a BIM meeting. I will never willingly go back to AutoCAD, because Revit is just so much better. Having said this, I am still disappointed in how much this book lacked and am still waiting for a Mastering book to come out.)
