    If you have no idea what Bitcoin is, then this book is probably not for you. If you know something about Bitcoin, but want a more solid foundation, then this may be right for you. The cybercurrency world is changing rapidly, so a year from now much of this will be out of date, but the basics shojld be the same. If you want to mine Bitcoin, or trade Bitcoin, you will probably need additional information. After all the disclaimers, I still feel this is a good book of basics that is relatively understandable. It is short and easily readable. When you finish you will have a better understanding of what a cybercurrency is and how the system works. It may not make you a master of Bitcoin, but you will probably know a lot more than most of your friends.

    Today's WSJ reported Bill Miller made a killing on bitcoin, but warned that "there is a non-trivial chance, it can go to zero." So true. I would say a good chance it may go to zero. Some called it fraud, but things are worth what others would pay, until the bubble pops. Cryptocurrency is something worth watching, but bitcoin may already be too overvalued. The book is a decent introduction for a real green horn. I spent a few hours on the net before getting this book. Nothing there which I did not learn in the net. Its weak particularly on review of various exchanges, and several cold storage devices widely used. Those who rely on this book for basic understanding of bitcoin, may want to google cold storage devices and bitcoin exchanges.

    Book is concise and well written, in easy to understand format. If I'm understanding the content well, I wouldn't think too much about grammar or a misplaced comma, as some similar comments wasted my time when I went through them before my purchase.

    Got me set for investing in the future, I thank the author for taking his time to share his knowledge. My reading style is normally 4-5 pages per day given my hectic work schedule but Author's writing style helped me maintain my understanding flow without jumping through pages.

    If someone wants to start getting on grips about Bitcoin or crypto tech in general, Just buy it ..

    One of the best parts about this book is that is organized in a way where as you build understanding, you start to build expertise. He has a great ability ability to explain everything in layman's terms. The parts about the security of Bitcoin was exactly what I was looking for as it was my main question into investing. This is a great place to start for bitcoin and cryptocurrency Tech.

    The book is very easy to read but a bit elementary: if you have some knowledge of bitcoin - you will not find much new information here. But...if you don't know anything about bitcoin- this book is for you - really easy way to learn about Bitcoin. Absolutely for dummies

    This is a great introduction to the subject of cryptocurrency in general and Bitcoin in particular. It covers everything you need to know to get started. I will refer back to it from time to time, when I need to review a particular subject.
    The book is well written, edited, and formatted making for a pleasant reading experience. The writing style is light and engaging bringing to life a subject that could otherwise be dry and boring.

    I was one of those people who wanted to get into cryptocurrency, but didn’t know anyone (in real life) to ask. I had checked social media, some webpages, and Rob Santora’s unhelpful book on cryptocurrency - but Alan T. Norman’s book is the most effective source.

    It was good to read Norman’s explanations for the underlying concept of cryptocurrency, the role of wallets, and the public’s perceptions of Bitcoin’s security. His writing does an effective job of advocating for Bitcoin, without turning into a fanboy sales pitch - a good restraint. As evidence, the section on what could go wrong with the entire Bitcoin system (in theory) was enlightening.

    I found the book’s length and breadth just right for an introductory book; it’s a solid setup for the next intermediate-level book that he wrote (which I’m yet to read).

    If the book is kept up-to-date (with new editions), it can stay relevant for the newcomers who will buy Bitcoin in the coming years. The book’s projections for Bitcoin’s price are already outdated, and while that was hard to avoid, the obsolescence stands out a bit.

    Look out for the informative web links throughout the book, which opened my eyes to many other sites (like CoinTracking) that I didn’t know existed. Finally, I like how the book ended with a collection of tips, fun facts, and favourite Bitcoin stories; that’s a good way to end the book, and it’s the icing on a good cake.
