This 23x37 is part of our special Golden Ratio series and is considered the most pleasing proportion to the human eye! Pure medium weight Belgian Linen finished to a primed weight of 12 oz.. It's double sized and double primed with archival quality acrylic gesso; impervious to paints leaching and harming the fabric. Suitable for oils, acrylics, and alkyds. Linen is the optimal canvas for archival grade artistry. The surface has a characteristic linen texture. There is a 1/2" gap between the canvas and frame, eliminating the unwanted lines that occur when the gap is less. We never use finger joints in our wood frames, which often fail under tension and over time - the glue joints give up, and are unsuitable for paintings intended to last for centuries. Our 3.25" wide heavy-duty keyable brace allows the canvas frame to be tensioned in the middle, where the tension is needed the most...a unique design for which we earned a patent! Double tongue and groove frame corners provide maximum torsional rigidity. Heavy Duty Cross brace provides maximum support and rigidity. Keys are pre-installed in the corners and the brace. Stretched using our proprietary MuseumWrap method, producing a drum-tight-stretch, up to 50% tighter than other methods, and with balanced tension across the surface. The corners are uncut and neatly folded, making it possible to remove and restretch the canvas on the same size frame.

A sizing is then applied to the canvas that becomes a barrier between the ultimate primer and the canvas material.  The primer is specifically designed to provide the ultimate surface upon which your paints will join with the canvas, either chemically and/or mechanically, providing a reliable base or ground for your art.The canvas is then mounted onto a state-of-the-art 3D Pro 2.5 frame. When frame sizes are 16” or larger, a brace is applied to the frame; for example, a 12x24 has a single brace, and a 24x24 is cross braced in both directions. The braces prevent the stretcher bar frame from bowing-in so the canvas stays tighter….which is a welcome feature when you paint on the canvas, making the surface more responsive to the artist’s touch. And the canvas stays tight after it’s painted.
