Confession: I started this book not liking Nick or his sneakiness and wondering how he would redeem himself. I really didn't figure that I would be rooting for him, but it didn't take long before I found myself adoring him despite the aforementioned sneakiness. Turns out, Nick was not only a great guy, he really WAS Mr. Right. Shelby was ridiculously sassy (which I love), funny, spunky, and a very independent woman, just like a book heroine should be. But, she was also an *imperfect* woman with both emotional and physical scars that weren't just wiped away in a typical romance novel-esque wave of the hand (or the wave of a male body part) – I really liked that. Both characters are a little bit damaged, but those broken pieces are what make them both likable and so easy to relate to and it makes them work as both friends and as a couple.
I enjoyed the fact that although they got together fairly quickly, it wasn't a love-and-sex-at-first-sight kind of book. Their relationship actually develops and they became friends and then became lovers and it was fun to “watch” that friendship-to-relationship happen. Building emotional connections and relationships before jumping into bed is a strength of Ms. Baumann's in all of her books, and one that I really, really appreciate as a reader.
Although it seems like something that wouldn't work in a romance novel, I thought that the little excerpts from the Chester books that started each chapter worked perfectly and added another layer of fun to the book. More than once I found myself laughing out loud, which is something that I LOVE when I'm reading.
If you like a book that isn't just fluff and sex but involves actually building a relationship and a good dose of humor, you'll enjoy this book.
It's a decent book. I got it as a discount thanks to a Facebook ad. It was predictable. I'm not a fan of the raunchy romance where it's all about sex AND fortunately this book didn't have sex until 3/4 of the way through. The interaction between the 2 main characters was awesome and grew over the pages.
I don't remember exactly how many days was in the book but it was pretty short.
Would I recommend it? Probably if it was free or discounted.
I gave it 4 stars because it was decent and I enjoyed it...and I got it for free. Had it been more than $1.99 my stars would be 2 or 3.
The chemistry between them is a wonderful push-pull and a battle of strong wills from the moment they step onto the page together. She wants it all – a husband, a family, a forever kind of love. He wants a no-strings-attached relationship.
Matching Mr. Right is a light and flirty romance with Shelby and Nick battling within themselves and battling with each other at the same time. It had a wonderful balance of emotion, humor, and sensuality. I will definitely read more from Tamra Baumann.
The hero of the story is the brother of the competition. He is set up to snoop on the heroine and find out why her practice is so successful. So he sets himself up as the party looking for a companion. He doesn't really want a wife or partner, he just wants a good time with no strings and he figures the matchmaker can find him a gal to fit the bill. Of course, he falls for her. He is a big, happy go lucky kind of guy. Big heart for his family and fun around the guys. He too has a problem from his past and as a result he has issues with his father.
It is a cute story and you will love his antics. It is an easy read with likable characters and a happy ever after. I will admit that the antics of the heroine got on my last nerve. He thought she was funny and cute. I thought she was rude and annoying. However, all's well that ends well. It is a cute story and a fun read. For the life of me I couldn't figure out why the heroine didn't lose the aunt and uncle except he did have a private box for the Bronco games. Otherwise, I didn't see why she put up with them.
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this writer. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less.

This is a delightful light romance with well written characters and depth to the story. If you've not read her first series (It had to be...) I'd recommend that as well.
