The book is just weird to me. I read The first book quickly, couldn't wait for this book and now I'm quitting half way.
There is incest, and sexual assault. All in the same paragraph. If Amazon doesnt publish this this time im going to complain because I would have liked the warning before I read this book. I'm actaully physically sick to my stomach right now from this book. My eyebrows could not climb higher up my head because I thought FOR SURE the good guys would stop the madness. Somehow.
And my last thing is how this book is so lame. I really dislike when the main girl and guys are supposed to be badasses but are always 90 steps behind or lose any fights. Do not tell me how badass they are, show me!!!
I loved the demon museum, walls and pathways changing (like Hogwarts) the remanants of the old world that had giant demons, major battles and a dark world. To me this peek into the old world was important to the story because it showed how destroyed their world would become if this demon they were fighting prevailed.
Thank you Ms. Valente for writing a book in the fantasy genre that is well thought out, and not a cookie cutter romance.
“The tension surrounding the four of them eased, and again, he could sense how good it could be between them – easy, warm, sexy, fun too.”
The seeds of love had been sown and this group of four were hunting for more than one truth as they fought against tradition, against family lines and even themselves to explore what could be between them. Getting on the same page had been difficult, and it was still a work in progress as the mystery deepened and they got slowly closer to the truth. Each step forward was rife with danger and discovery, as they stepped ever closer to the truth.
“She had Rake, Finn, and Damon and all the possibilities that simmered between them. She wasn’t about to turn her back on that…”
I loved this reverse harem romance that brought four very different characters together in, while not harmony, the wonder of love… Scorching hot with a story and characters that has left me only wanting more...
**I voluntarily (happily) reviewed this story
Book two picks up right where we left off, and as Aster, Finn, Rake and Damon continue their mystical quest working together to try and solve the mystery of three murders, their magical and powerful connection continues to grow. As the heat intensifies between this joining of four souls, they know time is running out to find the answers they seek before the end of the world as they know it. The connection shared between Aster, Finn, Rake and Damon is more powerful than they ever imagined. Will they be able to stop the demon that seeks world domination and find a way back together for the union of their magical hearts that destiny is leading them to?
Ms. Valente and Ms. King have definitely turned up the heat in this magnificent conclusion to this paranormal mystery romance which is replete with magical elements, romance and nail-biting suspense. As I mentioned in my review of book one, I am not generally drawn to supernatural romance, but this incredible collaboration has definitely changed that and left me with great anticipation and wanting more.
All three of them were intoxicating men in their own right, but together they were irresistible, magnificent, magical…
"You're ours. You were made for us, don't you feel it?"
"I do. Of course, I do."
