This provides 12 months of MathXL access, On the providers website 6 months of access costs about $10 more than the sold by Amazon Price.
This provides access to the MathXL website, I'm not a fan but just about every college math class I have taken requires access to this site. I won't review the site here, since it's not a site that you use just because, it is a site for required coursework.
The price for what you get is better on Amazon than from the provider or buying a new book with the code.
I did minus 1 star for the vague product description. It should specifically state it is a physical code and you need to be wary of buying this item used...
Just my thoughts,
So I bought this for a class. I received it new and sealed. However when I opened the code up and went to register the code had expired. I contacted pearson by phone. On hold for 30 mins before I got to someone. "There's nothing we can do" So I'm thinking WTH it was brand new! I contacted the seller. They got back with me saying this has happened before WTH and to contact pearson, I already did so and I told them what they told me. My time has been wasted just to save $15 bucks Well I decide to do pearson online chat. PITA. Hour and a half later they fix my code so that it will work.
I wish publishers would get away from the game of a new edition a year when there are little or no updates. I would be more likely to purchase my text books in the school book store for a little more money if they would hold down a position and do revisions every 5 years or so. I now wait until after classes start to get them online where they are a little cheaper than the book store.
ended up not using the code last semester and when I tried to use it this semester, I was told the publisher only issues the codes for a small time and they are killed when the new edition of the book comes out. I'm sorry but math at this level just doesn't change that much. Concentrate on a higher quality book that people will hold onto please rather than trying to wipe out the 2nd hand market by constantly releasing a new edition every 6 months. Online codes should be allowed to be active until used.
After all is said and done 2+2 has the same answer today as it had 6 months ago. I'm pretty sure it will be the same 6 monts from now. If it's changed, I will come back and raise my rating / rant
