For external basting of roasts, fowl, baked apples, etc., and can also be used to separate gravy from fat, and cream from milk. For internal basting, the natural flavor and juices of meat can be reinjected into meat for faster and more uniform cooking. This will also help reduce shrinkage and drying out of the meat. Special flavors such as mint sauce, pineapple juice, worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, herbs, etc may be added to meat or fowl. Made of stainless steel with rubber bulb. Made in USA.

I purchased this one because my Dog liked the previous one. Thought it was a toy? Not sure how he got it but he did. So is this a better Baster? Not really. My Dog can still Chew up the Bulb on this one. Is it a benefit to have a steel tube? Not really because you can not see the fluid inside. The injector is nice to have for some things that are light weight. For instance: You can inject Lemon Juice under the skin of a whole Chicken without separating the Skin. Try that, it is excellent for making Lemon Chicken. I would not use it for deep marinating. Do not think you will get the pressure needed. Basically if you are injecting meats then you should buy an injector.
Why I am giving this five stars is mainly because of the cleaning brush. I really do not care that the tube is metal but I am very happy too have the brush to clean it. I like the injector just because it is very useful for injecting Lemon Juice etc. under the Skin Of Cornish Hens, Chickens and even Turkeys but I would not recommend it for much more than that.
If your looking for a Baster this is a good choice especially because you can clean the tube and eliminate Bacteria. Good Luck!
And boy, did I get quality with this baster! Unlike my former cheap plastic baster, this one is stainless steel, so I don't have to worry about the chemicals from a plastic baster melting off in the hot turkey juice and going all over my food!
I honestly didn't realize it also came with the injector, which was a nice touch; very high quality. I ended up using it to inject some ribs with homemade barbeque sauce. They came out delicious!
Can't recommend highly enough.
