Matt is trying to make it through school and deal with becoming a teenager while the guys razz him about. He has become a stronger hunter. a stronger person. He has more confidence in his skills but questions himself as to why him, why is he in school, why is ella with him, and even how will he get his spirit knife and himself to gel and work together without losing himself. Afghanistan is dangerous and has Matt seeing for himself what his life has really become. He realizes what his dreams mean, what can happen and what is at stake.
Matt is placed in situations that have him grow as a person, a hunter and helps him become stronger. A stronger hunter, person, friend, brother and nephew. He gains trust from his company of guys but all of this does take a toll on Matt. matt is a hunter but feels guilt with each death and it shows in him as it weighs on his personality.
A great sequel that has you on the edge of your seat as you watch matt grow in so man ways.
This is a book about facing the darkness, both outside and inside yourself, and not giving up. Honestly, I can't recommend it enough.
He young warrior gets beat up pretty bad..As he is still in school and bis mother is not aware of his abilities the team has to make up scenarios to explain his injuries. This team of operatives need these knife readers to lead them to the o t her world creatures. It is a good read and looking forward to the next book.
