Our h/H Brenna O'Reilly and Travis Dalton, have known each other since Brenna was 6 and Travis was 14. He became her hero when her bike was stolen and he brought it and the culprit back to her. Travis has a proposition for her. He has worked his rear off getting onto the new reality show THE GREAT ROUNDUP and had talked himself into a corner saying he had a girlfriend, the show execs decided she was a fiancee, so now they want to see her and interview her! Where in the world is he going to find a girl to do this?! The prize is $1,000,000+
Well he just happens to be driving around trying to come up with someone and there he sees her at work, a hair stylist, and knows she's the one!! Brenna loves a challenge and can't resist going for it! Travis explains the situation to Brenna and she says OK! Now comes their love story and we get to read all of it!! Brenna grew up on a ranch too so the challenges that are given to her she knows just how to make them happen. Very enjoyable for them to have the HEA!
What a cute story!!
Homer makes a small appearance in this reality show based story centered around Travis Dalton and Brenna O’Reilly.
Travis has auditioned for the reality show, ‘The Great Roundup’, but before he can make the final cut, he must convince his fiancé to join him on the show. The problem is, he doesn’t have a fiancé!! With a million dollars on the line, Travis convinces his long time friend, Brenna to join him on the show and pretend to be his fiancé.
Brenna has loved Travis since she was six years old, but he has always said he was too old for her. Her feelings haven’t changed, so the chance to play the role of his fiancé is too good to pass up. But, as much as she would like to win that million dollars, she would like to win Travis's heart, even more.
However, once they make it onto the show, they are informed of one more shocking task the show's staff insist they perform- if they win, they will have their wedding during the show's finale! OOPS!!
This may be the hottest reality show, ever!!
Okay, in all honesty, I do not watch reality shows. But, if you are on social media at all, it is impossible to avoid snippets of them, conversations about them and comments between friends, or on Twitter trends. So, I ‘get’ the general idea of how it all works.
I think the author did an admirable job of authentically presenting these shows and the various ploys contestants use to give them an edge.
But, for me, the romance between Travis and Brenna was the main focus and would have worked in any setting. Brenna’s one -sided love affair with Travis makes the story slightly poignant, because all of her proclamations of love have a note of truth to them, while Travis is merely acting… at least at first.
The story is light, very fast paced, and truly delightful. Watching Travis realize his feelings for Brenna was very romantic and I loved the little surprise twist at the end!
I really had a lot of fun with this one! It may not convince you to start watching reality TV, but it will convince you of true love, and happily ever after.
Brenna has loved Travis since she was six years old, but he always considered her too young for him. Helping him out with this will do two things for her: earn the money to make her future plans happen, and give her the chance to show Travis that she's a grown woman.
I loved the development of their relationship. From their appearance at the Ace in the Hole and Brenna's "audition" for the show, to the very end, their chemistry is fantastic. Spending as much time together as they do, thanks to the show, just confirms to Brenna that she loves Travis and nothing is going to change that. For Travis, his attraction to Brenna comes as a surprise and he does his best at the beginning to fight it. It's a losing battle, and I loved watching him fall. There is some drama provided by a rodeo queen who has set her sights on Travis, and some terrific scenes of Brenna staking her claim. There's a sweet scene involving Travis, a bottle of whiskey, and some alcohol induced confessions, that brings hope to Brenna that they may have a future together, even though he is still fighting his feelings. I loved seeing them give in to their attraction as it deepened their connection. Their night back at the Lodge was steamy and funny too, and I loved their appropriation of some of the room's "amenities". The end of the filming, including the agreed upon special event, brought everything to a thrilling conclusion. I loved their big moment at the end, with Travis finally realizing his feelings. His sensitivity to her fears opened the door for them to really talk. I loved what they decided and would love to be a fly on the wall when they are finally able to talk about it.
I really enjoyed the reality show setting. It was fun to see Travis's preparations and how he dealt with the audition process. Once the filming started, I loved the various challenges and seeing how they were handled. The diverse personalities made things even more interesting. I loved the friendships that were made, especially with Steve and Roberta. I even enjoyed the rodeo queen, Summer, because her actions helped show what a great guy Travis was. I'd love to see reactions when the show airs.
