The ET-733 is the newest long-range wireless meat thermometer by Maverick. This third-generation version introduces many new features to make your cooking and grilling easier and more preciseThe wireless receiver clips onto your belt and fits in your pocket to let you monitor your BBQ wirelessly from indoors or across the lawn. While your meat is grilling, the receiver communicates with the probe to update you in real time. It constantly displays the meat's current temperature, and can sound an alarm at any temperature you desire for a perfect cook every time. The ET-733 features a larger screen and displays both the target-high and target-low temperatures. Two probes* are included to monitor two individual things at the same time: 1 food and 1 BBQ; 2 individual foods; or 2 separate BBQs. The new larger screen displays both temperatures all the time. Setting target temperatures is even easier, with NEW preset temperatures for 6 meats and 9 game meats (Beef, Veal, Lamb, Pork, Chicken & Turkey Deer, Elk, Moose, Buffalo, Rabbit Boar, Duck, Bird & Fish). • Set includes receiver, transmitter, 2 hybrid probes, 2 grill clips • Monitors 2 things at once! 1 food & 1 BBQ; or 2 foods; or 2 BBQS • 3-foot probe wires are rated for 716°F • Settings are stored even when receiver is off • Customize preset temperatures to personal taste • Adjust temperature settings by pressing HI or LO • Alarm alerts you when preset temperature is reached • Loss of signal alert sounds if you go out of range for more than 60 seconds • Generous 300-foot wireless range • Select between °F and °C • 4 AAA batteries included *Note: 2nd-generation ET-732 model includes 1 meat probe and 1 smoker probe. Newer ET-733 includes 2 meat probes, as most people use this for Grilling and not for smoking.

My Unit Just Died after 5+ years of loyal service. Decided to replace it with the identical model, even though Maverick does have an upgraded model. To me, this does exactly what its supposed to.
The only CON is that you have to start the unit in the right sequence. First the receiver, then the transmitter(the one with the thermometers attached). Also, navigating the different settings on the receiver is cumbersome. But once you know how to do it, you will be in love.
This thing works great, especially for people hosting parties. Generally I take 2 different types of meat, put them on opposite ends of the grill, and stick the thermometers into each piece of meat. I try to have all cuts roughly the same proportions. Lets say that you want your beef medium well, and for the sake of argument lets say its 150 degrees internally. So at rest the meat is at lets say 80 degrees. I split the difference, so I know it needs to cook 70 degrees, that means at the 35 degree mark, its time to flip. So once the internal temperature gets to 115 degrees, bam, time to flip.
Personally I have found by doing this, and only flipping the meat once creates a perfect result every time. I've done chicken, beef, pork, bison, turkey; and the results are always perfect.
This new one seems a bit more flimsy, so we will see how long it lasts. They have gotten to be so expensive that I have decided to baby this one to try to extract more life (my prior copies got no special treatment, sometimes abuse). Changing the batteries on the transmitter now requires a miniature phillips head screwdriver, a crazy way to build it--no screws required to access the batteries on the receiver, thankfully. The probes no longer have an L-shape, so are much more difficult to handle when probing around in meat on the smoker--and my older probes, which have never, ever failed, no longer work on this new unit--this is new. Setting the alarm parameters on the receiver is quite complicated--do not lose the instructions or you will never figure it out, it is not obvious at all! The on-off button seems like an upgrade over older versions.
On the good side, the range of radio reception has been substantially improved, making use of the remote much more viable. Truth be told, I rarely used the remote readout/alarm on prior units due to the severe range limitation, about 30 feet in real life. The new one seems to have at least 3x the range, the signals goes through multiple walls. As usual for these units, the are accurate, as indicated by two point calibration in boiling water and ice water. A fine BBQ/smoker thermometer overall, with the caveats described above.
Value: five stars. Heck the 6lb rib roast I cooked last weekend cost more than the $69 price of this unit. You get a RF transmitter, Receiver and two probes with this package.
Accuracy: 4 stars. To test the accuracy of a digital thermometer, boil water in a small pan. when the water if full boil, remove from heat and immediately submerge the tip of the probe (about 1") into the water being careful not to touch the side or bottom of the pan. leave for approx. 1 min. you should get a read of 212 degrees. Both probes shipped with my unit measured 214.0 degrees. Note, I also tested my "thermapen" at the same time and it measured 212.1. I'm good if they measure +/- 2 degrees or better.
Ease of use: 3 stars. Setting up the alarms using the manual is ok, but, it took me a while to get the hang of it. I still need to refer to the manual when I use this, because I don't use it often enough to retain...just me I guess. I also think the display is sometimes hard to read unless you turn on the backlight.
Quality: three stars. Note, this is the second product from Maverick I own. the first is the older model with smaller display and does not have the alarm setting capability. As many other reviewers have commented, the probes will fail, its a matter of time. my first unit lasted about 2 yrs before one probe failed. the replacement probes I purchased lasted about 6 months before one is now intermittent. the other part about the quality is that the warranty is only 90 days. That says a lot by itself.
Range: 5 stars. Wow, this was impressive. I placed the transmitter and probe in the far back corner of my property and then took the remote to every room my house (2700 sq. ft. including upstairs bonus room) and it stayed connected. I then went outside to the furthest part of my yard (about 200 FT) and it stayed connected even though the house was between the transmitter and remote!
Overall, I highly recommend the purchase of this product.
