For as long as she can remember, Max has always had a love of the poignant and thought-provoking side to life.
Which probably stands to reason why each of her books takes the reader on an emotional journey that not only promises twists, turns, and suspense but a heart-wrenching journey where her motto holds true:
Love never comes easy.
When she's not lost in an alternate world - fuelled by coffee and the odd sneaky bowl of chocolate (preferably M&Ms) - she spends her days as a wife to a dedicated husband, mother to two rambunctious boys, and an obsessive petrolhead enjoying the muscle on display at the local car shows.

Caught between two worlds, I no longer know who I am.
I was one of the Chosen. Four girls, and four boys, destined to have it all: wealth, status, and a future. Now, I find myself on the other side looking for a way back in.
My father’s criminal case meant we lost it all. Forced out of our home, our city, our life, we started anew in a sweet country town called Arcadia.
Except after one day as “the new girl” I know there isn’t a single sweet thing about Arcadia High. Trouble brews amongst the student body. Love, lies, and betrayal. And when the consequences spill out the decorative gates?
These spoilt country kids won’t know what hit them after the city come to collect.
Starting anew in the country presents its own problems, but when the students of Arcadia High take notice, she becomes fresh meat for the starved.
Love her, or hate her - Lacey's about to find out how cruel jealous teens can be.
At Riverbourne Preparatory, being a good girl made me desirable. All a rich boy wants is a pretty and obedient woman on his arm, and I was definitely both of those things.
But at Arcadia High? Being good made me a target. I became a trophy for the spoilt. An end-of-year reward for those willing to play the game: bad boys.
The city kids have arrived to reclaim what’s theirs, and the country? Well. Those boys don’t give in without a fight.
If only we had a common ground.
Truth was, I didn’t know how to put it into words. So I showed him. Love, laughter, and life. I gave Dark Tide’s lead guitarist a glimpse of it all.
He wanted more. I longed to give it to him.
But every so often fate slips up. Soulmates meet while on incompatible paths. The only thing certain about our future was that there couldn’t be one.
“What’s it like to be happy?”
I’m not sure I know anymore.
What started as a fight between city and country, escalated into a battle of good versus evil—those with a conscience against those whose greed grows stronger.
Turn a blind eye to the sins or leave.
I’ve made my choice, and now I intend to ruin the tyrants who stayed.
But first, I need to get my brother back.
Yet the closer I get to making Riverbourne pay for what they did, the less satisfied I feel. Revenge is a lonely, complicated, and ultimately impossible road if, like me, you're tired of hurting those you care about.
Can I reclaim what love remains? Or I have I gone too far?
He's the powerhouse of the band. The one who keeps them together with his backline on stage and his authority off stage.
She's a music journalist looking for her big break.
All Toby wants is to be heard.
And all Jeanie wants is his story.
Happily ever after seems so easy. But hey, this is rock 'n roll.
Four simple rules when you’re a woman in denial:
1. Don’t stalk your father’s best friend online.
2. Don’t talk to him via Messenger.
3. Definitely don’t go to his house.
4. And whatever you do, don’t tell him you’re still in love.
I’ve never been one for doing what I’m told.
"Max nailed it. As she always does. The chemistry is insane. The angst had me in tears and I couldn't get enough!" - Lindsey King
"I absolutely loved reading this book! And that ending!! That ending is everything." - I Love HEA Romance Book Reviews
Others a celebrity bad boy.
Me? I call him the arrogant bastard who stole my concert venue.
His apology? To take me and my violin on tour with the band. It’s an offer I can’t refuse, even if it does come with strings attached. Because Rey Thomas isn’t who he seems. Life isn’t pretty behind the deviant frontman’s facade. It’s raw, ugly, and at times downright painful. But it’s real. And far better than the lie he presents to the world.
The man behind the face of Dark Tide is beautiful in his chaos. All I have to do is keep him alive long enough to see that too.
with an attitude to match.
He’s been my fantasy for years,
my dark and dangerous daydream.
Which is why I can't believe it's his lips
that whisper dirty things in my ear.
Dirty things he wants to do to me.
A reclusive millionaire with criminal friends,
he gives plenty of reasons why this is a bad idea.
It was only meant to be one night.
A fix to rid me of my fascination.
Yet like a drug I can’t quit,
He’s my dirty little secret.
And each hit makes me feel
One more night … that’s all I need.
Then I’ll stop.
A NOTE ABOUT THE RED HOT READ SERIES
If you’ve read my work already you know that my stories tend to be deep, emotional journeys with relatable real-life characters.
Somewhere amidst writing my novels I realized something: I couldn’t keep diving from one gut-wrenching story into another without losing my mind.
So, I wrote a sexy over-the-top novella for a bit of fun. Each of these erotic novellas will bear the above logo to set them apart from my contemporary novels.
I hope you enjoy this deviation from the norm, and I look forward to bringing you plenty more bedtime goodies!
