First of all, please excuse the grammar and flow of the book itself. It’s difficult to keep a train of thought for 10,000 words, and most of this was transcribed from audio to speed up the process. I have never written a book before and prefer to do most of my brain dumping on video vs writing. This should be very helpful for anyone looking to rank a cannabis site. This is not going to cover super high level technical SEO.
This book will cover a number of best practices and will have some instructions for on page and off page SEO. Cannabis SEO can be tricky and there are a lot of restrictions on what you can and cannot say. Some of the training will help local businesses and some will help national businesses.
Please understand that cannabis, CBD, and hemp are all highly competitive markets and the SERPS will evolve as they always have. Some principles will apply to all SEO, others to just cannabis.
“Cannabis dispensary near me” has an estimated global volume of 39,000 searches a month at this moment. That is only going to get higher because it's not legal everywhere, and it's not being sold worldwide. The trend is traffic is already there. “Cannabis Dispensary” is considered a very, very hard keyword. The global search volume is roughly 23,000. Your parent topic is technically “weedmaps”, which gets about a million searches a month also.
But the local USA search volume is estimated at 16,000 per month.
Now here's the thing, a lot of these estimates are just estimates. For instance “Los Angeles Cannabis dispensary” & “Cannabis Dispensary Los Angeles” have a combined estimated local search volume of 80 total searches a month. Now here's the thing. If that's 80 searches a month, that's 80 people that are visiting your business, that's 80 customers a month coming in. Odds are, this estimate is SUPER LOW. There are algorithm’s that predict these based on a combo of population and national searches. Having access to maps insights and google analytics will give you a better idea of what the real traffic is. There is definitely more traffic than 70 or 80 searches a month in Los Angeles.
