Product Description

I Owner of Pestcontrolpros Use This Product in My Yard and it Works Great!!! Maxforce FC Fire Ant Bait Granular is for the control of imported fire ants. Fire ant mounds can go as deep as 15 feet below the surface, and have numerous queens. Drenching the mound with an insecticide in most cases will not be sufficient to eradicate the colony. Maxforce FC Fire Ant Bait is meant for the worker ants to carry the product back to the colony and feed it to the other ants. Its delayed-action kill ensures that the fire ant bait is spread throughout the colony before it takes effect. USE INSTRUCTIONS: Broadcast Treatment: Maxforce FC Fire Ant Bait can applied in a broadcast treatment to turfgrass to control existing active imported fire ant populations. We recommend using a hand spreader for broadcasting the bait uniformly over lawn areas. The bait should be applied when fire ants are actively looking for food, typically in the morning or evening. Do not apply the bait immediately after irrigation or rain. Fire ants will begin to die from a proper treatment within 14 days. Do not reapply for 3-6 weeks. Do not exceed 4 applications per year. Mound Treatment: Shake the granules uniformly around the mound, but do not disturb the mound. Broadcast the granules in a circle about 4 to 5 feet in diameter with the mound being in the center of the circle. Apply when ants are actively looking for food, typically in the morning or evening. Do not apply the bait immediately after irrigation or rain. Fire ants will begin to die from a proper treatment within 14 days. Do not reapply for 3-6 weeks. Do not exceed 4 applications per year. Product must be used when Its Dry If bait gets wet it will not work.. that is the key.. apply when yard is dry so the ants pick up the bait.. they will not touch wet bait.

This is the best ant bait I've found, ants run over themselves to get to it.And a little goes a long way .I saw them coming from places I didn't know had ants colonies.Worked so good I had 2 neighbors ask me to order for them . More than a 5 star product.

This stuff is amazing! I sprinkled a little around the entry to an enormous ant pile. There were probably 4 mounds, and billions of these guys. They were gone within two days! Never came back. (It's been two years.)

I used this product for 3 years now. Takes a few days to work but it works. I use to drive an F350 dually 60 minutes round trip to buy it. Its a product that works. Was delivered to my neighbor by mistake but he returned it (he probably should have used it - it where the ant are coming from anyhow).

My exterminator told me about this product and made me swear not to tell his boss that he had. I got it as an alternative to having them treat my property, which involves spraying the entire lawn or field in a blanket fashion. I didn't like the idea of using this much insecticide and it really wasn't practical for the ten acres I needed treated, so I tried Maxforce. I just carried the jug, which is very lightweight even when full, a measuring cup and flags around in my cart as I worked each day and treated mounds as I came across them. I soon realized that the flags weren't necessary because one treatment practically always shut down the colony.

This bait kills some of the fire ant nests. Others won't touch it. What I wanted were the dark brown granules that are about the size of granulated sugar... There is no physical description of the granules in the product description. Oh well.

if the review says 'small brown granules', they are not reviewing this product.
years ago over-n-out worked. expensive, but it worked. then it changed and it was like all other fire ant killers. just moved the mound.
i found why over-n-out no longer works. they stopped using fipronil. its an insect nerve agent. all insects. this is in a bait form so it kills all the mound. it won't reappear next year in the same place. you won't see ants writhing in pain. its not instant. but it works.
it says 1.5 to 5 pounds per acre (if you broadcast it). i applied 2 pounds to an acre. no need to believe you know better than the directions or apply it in any manner other than the directions.
it seems bayer has stopped making this. i ordered it this spring (enough for 2 applications) but found i do not need a second application. and now (late june 2015) its no longer available. people quacking about bees. if you can find it, stock up.
fipronil is still available in other forms. but i suspect the bait was a big part of the reason it worked so well.

0.00045% fipronil? Thats 20000 times weaker than than termidor that has 9.1%. A gallon of termidor would yield 20k gallons of solution at 0.00045% concentration, enough to fill an average sized swimming pool!
