I'm sure I could jam a bit more in there as well as there are a few more empty slots and spaces more could go. I'm highly considering getting a few more for various kits for travel. Highly recommend.
When you open the pouch, you have a choice of strapping in your items either horizontally or vertically. What I mean by this is that the left side of the pouch has straps laid out in a vertical alignment, and the right side has a horizontal alignment. I thought this was a brilliant, simple design feature that adds another layer of versaility to a rock solid pack.
After stuffing it full, I can see why many swear by this thing. The seams, zippers and handles are tough, and can really take a beating. For those looking to EDC, I think this would be a great choice. It fits foldable knives, small flashlights, Leatherman multi-tools and writing instruments with ease. I was able to also fit a small notepad inside, as well as miscellany like chapstick, Visine, nail clipper and some Sharpies. An internal zippered pouch allows you to slide in a few other things (preferably flat items like wetnaps, paper clips, binder clips) that you can then zipper off and keep separate from the rest of your stuff. There are also "hook points" on the left side large enough to clip on a small carabiner for loose keychain items.
All in all, the Maxpedition Medium Fatty Pocket Organizer was a great pack for daily essentials and I would encourage anyone to give this one a shot.

That could possibly explain the problem with the elastic.
Amazon is sending me a replacement. I'm hoping the elastic will function normally, because I really do like this pouch.
I will be using this pouch for a travel watercolor kit, which will include two small paint palettes, travel brushes, fountain pens, rapidigraph pen and small ink bottle, pencils, eraser, 6 inch ruler, small size watercolor papers, small water bottle and other art supply accessories that I like to carry with me.
If the elastic in the replacement pouch is fine, I would give it a high grade.
But for this particular Olive Drab Green version, I cannot give a good grade. It's those elastic bands that appealed to me in this pouch. Otherwise it's just a plain old pouch.
The elastics allow for organization of things, rather than throwing a bunch of little things into a pouch and having to rummage through to find what I want.
The quality of the nylon material seems strong, and the mesh netting on the outside seems to be a very good quality. The cat-proof kind of mesh netting.
The loops that are on the back that allow this to be connected to another back are also very good quality material.
The Velcro is a very strong and hardy Velcro. Very good quality.
If it weren't for the brittle elastic, I'd give this five stars.
And again, that may be flawed due to being old stock.
If the replacement of this one, which will be black, has quality elastic, I will give five stars.
I have been searching for a long time for a pouch such as this, with many organization possibilities.
I rarely ever leave home without art supplies. This pouch keeps it all together, nice and compact, and organized.
